Jessica Suen Huen and Roger Kwok Jun-On (left) were all smiles at last night's TVB Lunar New Year dinner as they learned earlier in the day that SQUARE PEGS has become one of the most-watched television series in HK history. In its concluding week, the drama averaged a rating of 41ratings points with a high of 46 ratings points. Since one ratings point equals approximately 65,000 viewers, almost half of the population of Hong Kong was tuned into SQUARE PEGS last week.
The average rating for SQUARE PEGS throughout its run was 37 ratings points making it the most-watched television series measured under the Nielsen's "People Meter" ratings system. The "People Meter" was introduced to Hong Kong in 1991. Previously, the top spot was held by the Dicky Cheung Wai-Kin historical drama DUKE OF MT. DEER 2000. It averaged 36 ratings points through its run. WAR OF THE GENDERS continues to hold the record for highest-rated single episode with a 48 ratings point score.

Speaking to reporters from The Sun, Roger Kwok Jun-On revealed that the success of the series has caught him by surprise. Kwok: "I never imagined that the response would be so good."

Earlier, Kwok promised to give packets of "lucky money" to the crew if the drama broke the 40 ratings points barrier. Consequently, he has prepared a bundle of red packets for distribution when the Lunar New Year arrives later this week.

As for Jessica Suen, she was bubbling with joy at news of SQUARE PEGS high ratings. Suen: "I'm unbelievably ecstatic. I've worked at TVB for over ten years and this is a personal high for me. I can honestly die with no regrets now."

When asked if she would sign up for a sequel, Suen answered: "I don't think we should do one. I'm afraid that if we don't do a good job, it would end up tarnishing the legacy of this great series. I hear that a prequel is in the works though. That's another matter entirely."

I think Jessica is a good actress, she potrays her character very well. Plus she is one of those actress that keeps in close contact with her fans. How often do you see that happen..? Not to mention that she speak english very well, so for a person like me who only know how to speak english we would be able to withhold a converstaion.

Who knows the Viet title of the movie 'Game of Deciet'? I thought this movie is pretty funny.

A very brief translation here.

It says Jessica and Ng King (Jason Ng) fell in love during the 4 months of "Sin Nui Yau Wan" shooting in China. Since the series finished, their relationships then came to an end.
During the shooting, Jason helped Jessica massaging for 10 mins in the set and carrying her belongings. He bought her presents and went out for dinner with her. He also called her on Valentine's Day. They were like 'twins' there. Soon after the series finished, Jessica has to come back to HK, and later, she called Jason for break up (hahahah! That easy??? How funny la!!! )

The reporters called Jessica and Jason yesterday. They both have similar replies.
Jessica "Whatever you guys want to write!"
Jason "Whatever you want to write. You call me, I know you want to ask this question. If there's nothing between us, but you guys say yes, what can I do? Jessica is nice. During the shooting, I worked with the casts happily!"

Ah Wong's "Real" and "Fake" Lo por chais will challenge each other’s acting skills in the new series.

Jessica was applause by everyone for her great acting skills playing Roger’s Lo Por Chai in SP. Not only TVB considers her as the “lucky star”, Roger’s career was salvaged by this series too. Roger is now amongst the hottest artiste in TVB. TVB seizes this opportunity and requests Jessica to take another leading role in a new series called Fan Li Fa. Also starring in this series is Roger’s girl friend Cindy Au. This will give Ah Wong’s "real" and "fake" Lo Por Chais an opportunity to challenge each other’s acting skills.

The casts in Fan Li Fa
Jessica will play the leading role, Fan Li Fa. Shek Sau and Joe Ma will play father(Sit Yan Kwai) and son (Sit Ting Shan), Cindy will be Joe’s sister. The producer Wong Sing Wai was originally hoping to film part of the series in China. But with the outbreak of SARS, their plans have to be revised.
