Jessica's got the whole works - the looks, the talent, the status, the figure, etcetc.![]()
She totally doesn't look 35 at all. It's all about the skin care now. Hehe. Although I think Jessica's roles are slowly maturing to the motherhood age. With the start of A Handful of Love taking care of 5 nieces and nephews and then with Just Love and actually have a baby that was theirs. I don't think Jessica can play those roles where she's supposed to be way younger and looking for romance anymore because TVB's got all the younger artists filling in those roles now. But then Jessica can't be someone else's parents yet (ie. having a kid who's a teenager) because she's not THAT old yet. So she's kinda left in this awkward stage where she can do a bit of both... lol. I'm glad she'll be working with Bobby and Michael for her next project because both are very experienced actors and they're part of the same generation. Sometimes I'm not too fond of a whole series with all the youngsters in it. There's nobody really "good" to watch. It's more shallow and all about the looks. But then again I could be bias cuz nobody's gonna beat Jessica. BAHAHA!
I read some rumors about a possible LMS 3. Technically wouldn't it be LMS 2? Since LMS wasn't really a sequel to Square Pegs? But that's besides the point. I hope they don't make another one because Ah Wong is sorta getting old. It was special the first time cuz nobody has ever done that role before, then it was interesting to see Ah Wong in modern times. But if they make another one, it'll be too much. They should leave it while Ah Wong is still popular. Jessica would have to be suckered into being Lo Por Jai again and that'll just shadow her talent like this time. I think TVB producers should not try to imitate Ah Wong or bring about other characters that are similar to Ah Wong in future series, because Roger's the original and it won't be as big or as effective if they have another actor pretend to be mentally retarded too. Everyone will just be like, "hey, that's just like Ah Wong, but someone else is playing it"
Yeah she isn't old old but then again she has gained in her years now but having her play in roles with younger actors and actresses makes everything a little hard for her but she can do it and with younger tvb stars fillling in roles her movies are less than what it used to be. But she has been playin lots of mother roles lately though and it makes her to younger kids an old person but even though I am 13 I believe she plays great roles old or young.
She is 35 this year?

OMG me too, ASITP was my first time seeing her or even knowing who she was. There was something special about her that made me instantly like her. After that I had to find more info on her (which is probably how I've come to be a member of this site), and watch her other series cas I couldn't get enough of her.Originally Posted by TommyH
Also I didn't think Square Pegs is that old, it shouldn't be that hard to find.
Oh! guess what I got yesterday, The TVB calendar. There is so many people on it. Is it me or is the calendar getting bigger or what. Actually I just measured it, its slightly bigger then this years, but next years is really difficult to hang, cas the calenday hangs horizontal, there are two peggy things, not just one in the middle. Who is going to hammer two nails into their wall just to hang a calendar.
This year they have a front page with the Miss hk and a bunch of other people who I do not recognize.
Jan-feb - have Sunny, Frankie, Bowie, Roger, Bobby and Adam (in my opinion this was the best page)
mar-april - Winnie, Melissa, JESSICA, Charmaine, Gigi, and Sonija. (this would have been the best if they got rid of the rest and only had Jess! hey that rhymes
may-june- 9 people incl. Bernice, Ron, Myolie, Bosco ect..
jul-aug - 9 people incl. Raymong, Linda, Ada, Kevin
Sep-oct - 9 people incl. Kenneth, Yoyo, Moses, Tavia, Steven ma
Nov-dec - 11 people incl. Mandy, Selena, Kenix, Joe, Shirley,
Jessica Hsuan + Louis Koo = Amazing Chemistry!

AH! Sutisa, you got the new calendar already! Lucky! Was it really free? I got gipped last year and had to pay $10 for mine... cuz the stupid store owner said they were only giving it out to members and my mom was like, "We're a member too, we have the membership card." But then he was STILL being stupid and said that all the calendars were reserved already. But my mom was very persistent and finally she said, "I'll pay you ten bucks for it." and the guy was like, "Alright, fine you can have this one that has a little dent in the corner." Grrr... but whatever, at least I got it. But this year that rental store moved to god knows where, so I have to find another store to bug. Eugh. I'll fork out another $10 if I have to I guess.
I remember seeing Jessica in one random episode of ASITP. I thought she looked familar, but couldn't put a name to it and I wasn't too into chinese tv shows at that time so I dismissed it. I think that was in 2002 that I saw ASITP? (It came out in 2001 right? So it airs on tv for us a year later so that would make it 2002....) And then a year later at the end of 2003, I saw Jessica again during a random episode of Golden Faith. I asked my mom who she was and right when she said it, the name seemed so familar to me, like I've heard it before (when I probably haven't). And like Sutisa, there was this charisma about Jessica that I just fell in love with. So I continued watching GF, even though at the time, my mom was against me watching tv during school days. But I insisted on watching and came up with lame excuses to watch tv. Fortunately, I got my mom hooked to the GF too so she stopped complaining about me watching it. hehehe... thank god there was a GF site to download selected clips and I got to read spoilers. Then I eventually found my away to this forum and the bravenetforum. DA-TA and the rest is history. It was because of GF that I started watching more and more chinese tv. At first I only watched because of Jessica (fortunately after GF aired, Square Pegs aired right after it so more Jessica!)... and then I watched cuz Flora was in Triumph in the Skies and I sorta like Flora too... then slowly I just started watching more and more... and now I have to watch at least one series at night even if I don't anyone in it or the plot sucks. Oh, and because of GF, my mom has realized that I am capable of doing school work and watch tv. *rolls eyes... and I'm 19 now. Sigh.
wow, my Jessica history began a little bit before u guys did. i saw her in Good Match Made in Heaven. she caught my eye but i couldn't really stand her character (in fact, i liked Amy more). then it was long while before my sister started renting series again & it was Man's Best Friend. she once again caught my eye cuz i remember thinking "hey! it's that girl! i like her she's cool" only this time i liked her character too so i think that was when i 1st became a fan.
then there was another long period (a couple of years actually) when i didn't watch any series at all. my mom didn't let me watch series either. she thinks they mess w/ my head & i'll get so addicted i'll never know when to stop. so some years later, my siblings start to sneak series in my room & i hide them in every possible place u can think of. yeah, it's sorta like prison(she still doesn't like me watching series & i'll be turning 19 in February)
here's the big finale to my story. it was 2000 i think. it finally occured to me that i can look her up on the internet (i didn't know her name at the time). i found out about her & Louis, read the whole sypnosis for DIF4, rented, watched, & loved it, found this lovely thread here, & yes, the rest is history. i thoroughly enjoyed the many talks about her hair.
i wonder if Vicky has the new calendar up yet. & for real, who wants 2 holes in their wall for a calendar? but hey, if u have a desk big enough u can use it as a desk calendar. so when ur bored u can doodle all over the Ms.HK's or Sonija's face or something!
Haha, my history truely started in Good Match Made in Heaven....but back then I was rather young, and I barely even remember anything. The string is like the only thing I remember. I stopped renting for a while, and then randomly watching series...It just happens that I missed every Jessica series there possiibily is! up to Square Pegs. I was rooting for Jessica the whole way! Oh yeah I did see Burning Flames II, buts she only had a brief appearence. Anyways, I forgot when I randomly read a Fan Fiction of Louis and Jessica. I absoutly fell in love with that couple! I went back to watch Decetive Investigation Files IV (I know so late! but better late then never?) OMG I fell more in love with LJ! and Jessica. nevermind Louis, I have always found him hot... I just had to find out more about Jessica and LJ! Next I saw Golden Faith, this is the series that will make you a die hard Jessica Fan, She was awesome in this series! The hair, the look, the attitude, just everything! I became obessed... hehe. When I went online, I found her familar, I'm sure I must have seen another Jessica series, I believe FOJ 4 and 5... but I don't remember much.
I join this forum around the exact time where the data from the server could not be retrived... which is sometimes during April? I was here since then... under a different name. Oh well. Guys, guys, guys... 99! 1 to go!

Headline of article: Persistently refuses to marry Ah Wong, Jessica forces the producer to change the ending
Initially, when Jessica had a meeting with the producer and script writer of LMS to discuss the plot of LMS, they wanted her to marry Ah Wong and even thought of going to the Registry of Marriage for the administrative details of their marriage. But Jessica had reacted strongly against this, persistently refusing to marry AH Wong and not willing to make any compromises. In the end, the producers had to change the script, resulting in the ending that sees the union of the two after a few years' separation. This type of ending is subject to "interpretation by individuals".
Regarding this issue, Jessica says "it should not be said that I forced the producer to change the ending, but more as a result of discussion. LMS is a story set in modern times. Even a normal person will not marry Ah Wong. Other than myself who cannot accept this, I also feel that the audience will also not be able to accept it. What I feel towards Ah Wong is not love between a man and a woman but the concern that exists between friends. Whatever it is, I just oppose to the marriage of Ah Wong and Lor Poh Jai."
Roger, who is currenly filming in Shanghai, says that "anything is possible in TV drama."
Other than having expectations on her leading male actors, Jessica also places expectations on her boyfriends in real life. But as she matures with time, she has lowered her expectations. Now she can accept a relationship with a younger man. She says, "in the past, I cannot accept this at all. But now, I feel that as long as our thinking is similar and there is not too much difference in our appearance, I can accept it. Actually, it is not that I have lowered my expectations, but rather, I have widened them a little."
Although Jessica is currently busy filming in China and will only be back in January, her friends are already busy match-making for her. There are quite few eligible men who are waiting for her to be back to meet with them. She says "my friends are more anxious than me. My boyfriends have always been introduced to me by friends. All along, I only have had only a few male suitors (I find it hard to believe!! Maybe they are afraid to approach her coz of her fame? ). This may be due to my male-like character and appearance. Anyway, the earliest I would start dating is next January. Actually, I've always had the mentality of letting nature take its course when it comes to relationships."
According to some sources, the eligible men who are waiting to have meals with her include famous men. Afterall, one of her ex-boyfriends was Ronald who is also a well-known personality. Hence, there are speculations that she will marry into one of the rich and influential families. But Jessica's goals in life are to seek a simple and ordinary lifestyle. She says, "As long as the family is a happy one, I will be OK. An ordinary life is the happiest. I find that I am not suited to marry into a rich and influential family. Actually, as one experiences more in life, one will understand what one's needs are. But men in the same industry will certainly not be among my choices for a partner."
The house that Jessica bought 2 years ago at a price of HK$9.5m (over 2,000 sq ft) has now risen to about KH$20m. Although it appears that she has made about HK$10m in profit, Jessica has no intention of selling it because she regards it as a "Feng Shui House" (house with good geomancy according to some Chinese beliefs). Turns out that after she bought this house, Jessica got the role in "Square Pegs" and her career has been growing steadily ever since. She says, " I did check on feng shui (geomancy), plus the fact that my parents have flown back from Beijing to live with me, so I won't sell it. Most importantly, it is my dream house. I had already set my eyes on this house when I entered showbiz, but I had not saved enough then."
With a multi-million-dollar house and 2 cars, Jessica feels very proud becuase she has earned them herself through hard work. She says, "whatever I own now is earned through my hard work. Even when I was a newbie in the industry and not earning much, my parents din't sponsor me, except helping to pay more than $10,000 as downpayment for my first car."
