To me, music is a distraction and does not go well hand in hand with my studying. But ironically, I can tolerate and study well when I have the tv on

my brain won't won't without any external sound. I even sleep well with music on instead of total silence. silence creeps me

i can study with or without music.. it doesnt really affect me.
but i realised that when i listen to music while studying or doing my homework, i tend to do work faster and more information gets into my brain. hmm... research shows that you do more work when there is a distraction... right?

Any idea who researched and came out with those findings? Because from what i know, the contrary is mostly true, distractions do not aid in studying/working. Unless maybe you're talking about music for work-outs, dancing etc.
