I am glad you got it fixed GuGu.

All in all, "Tech Help" is a huge guessing game unless you're right in front of the computer(Even then). You either hit or miss. Unless the problem is blatantly obvious.

I am neither a Networker nor a professional at networking. Although I did work for the Geek Squad for a period of time and my brother happen to be a be a Networker for AIRGAS lol.. I merely suggested somethings to do that might be a fix for his/her computer. She/he could've followed it or couldn't have. When your computer is breaking down, you'll try anything/everything for a solution (I know from experience). No amount of knowledge will prepare you for the type of technical malfunction your computer randomly accesses.

So I give a pat on back to Netdriftr. You were right, I was totally wrong.

Thanks so much for your help too, sorry I didn't mention it earlier.

Please don't take what Net says to heart, he's just being an *** and we all know it. @ Net

Everyone took time out to help and I am very thankful for that. If you guys start taking what Net wrote and admitting you guys were 'totally wrong' I for one am afraid to ask for more help, cause now I have this issue with virus protection.

THANK YOU EVERYONE FOR ALL OF YOUR HELP!

can someone please tell me why my damn internet is so ****ing slow?! i have dsl..n i've been taking VERY GOOD care of it in the past 3 years that i've never allowed neone else to even TOUCH it. until the one day that i finally decided to allow my lil bro to use this for his games or his other useless shits..the internet takes forever to load a ****ing page. he's lucky i'm getting a laptop soon since i'm heading off to college or else i would've done some damage to that punkass.

what can i do to make it to the speed that it was before!?!?

n oh, it only takes a long time to load a page..but if i was dowloading a file/music..it's still pretty fast. wtF?

Shuddup, I wasn't talking about that kind of protection.

Anyone have any suggestions? The kind I used expired and I don't want to waste money on something that won't protect me. I get all these pop up suggestions but I am told not to trust any pop up stuff.

try avast. i use it and its very good + free . a lot of people like the avg, but i tried it and its useless. avg detects everything but it cant delete anything.

    and yes, always use protection

Where do I go to get Avast? And it's wonderful that it's free .

Gugu has no need to use that kind of protection, she's not active that way.

    hahaha..

ok seriously.. i suggest u get a security suite that includes anti-virus, anti-spyware, and firewall... my recommendation is Zonealarm Internet Security.
however if you dont want to pay for it, perhaps look for some freebies out there like AVG and AVAST

Nah, I'm really not offended at all. Net's an ok dude to me, I'm just countering his sarcasm.

About antiviruses I don't have much experience which is best and which works for you. I can only say from experience that no antivirus can give you a 100% protection, not even close. For spywares I use cracked programs like spysweeper which I got from torrents, I don't regularly update nor run antiviruses since I don't get any viruses coz I know how to avoid them. I don't recommend buying commercial antivirus and anti spywares because they aren't full proof and you can easily get a new virus if misfortune befalls you not to mention you'll have to pay them a subscription fee just to keep your software updated. I do suggest using backup programs or better yet burn your important files into cds/dvds or have a separate hard drive for storing important files. The best way to remove a virus is to reformat your computer which is likely what you are going to do when you get a new worm that can't be removed. Of course you'll have to know how to reformat a pc and install drivers for your devices.

Nothing is important on my computer. They're mostly just series and movies that I've downloaded. And that whole 'worm' 'install drivers' and stuff makes absolutely no sense whatsoever to me. All I can do is, if something goes wrong with my pc and I can't fix it, I'll just buy a new one. I'm one of those people who gets really angry when something doesn't work when it's suppose to work. Earlier this week I was going to pack up my computer and throw it out on the lawn and put up a 'free' sign on it. Good thing I didn't do that. I guess I'll download that avast program that Lunar suggested and see if the problem goes away.

    Thanks guys!

LOSER! I don't! I went to this site to watch movies for free and it told me I had to download something and I did it. And then all of a sudden like 10 pop ups came up saying I have a high level risk virus thingy and i needed to download these virus cleaner stuff! I think it's serious because there was a little yellow triangle with an exclamation mark that popped up on my taskbar in the lower right corner that also told me my computer was infected with a high level virus or something! Can you just tell me one protector that will stop all of these stuff and will automatically protect my computer without me having to do anything?
