Monkey King's love life in adaptations...

I was just wondering which Monkey King love life did you guys prefer the most?

I am just talking about the love life alone, and not which monkey did a better job, or that with story overall was better.

I just strictly want to compare love life of the three different adaptations.

I know in the novel, Monkey King is not supposed to have any love.

JTTW 86 Mainland - He had no love life whatsoever, like intended.

JTTW 96 TVB - He had a "romance" with a spider. In the end though, he still was unable to be in love because he simply did not know what love was.

JTTW 00 Mainland - He fell in love with an angel and had a love story with her. He even had something going on with White Bone Demon.

Which love story of Monkey King do you guys like the most, prefer the most?

Are you against Monkey King falling in love because he is not supposed to? I think it is dumb for angels to fall in love too.

Do you prefer he actually have some kind of love story even though he might not return the love?

Or are you wishing Monkey King did fall in love? Even angels fall in love, why can't Monkey King?

i only saw the 96 version and there were very little love in it lol. but i guess i will choose the 96 version

He can't fall in love, he's a Buddhist monk.

i think it was important to him to fall in love, because it's another trial that he has to overcome. and the stephen chow version has my fav monkey king love story.
