Mangosteen is suppose to go with durian. Durian is heaty while mangosteen is cooling, so, they balance each other out. Maybe that's why they are always sold together.

I like mangosteen too, but, this fruit is kinda messy. Got your hands all stained with redish-purple color.

OMG, I love DURIAN!! The more ripen the better because it's simply smellicious. Too bad durian is rare and costly where I live. Just found out that a whole durian of 6.5 pounds costs $44.00. What the hell, out of that 6 pounds probably only 2 pounds is the meat and the rest is just the skin. So outrageously expensive!!!!!!

Here's some nutritional info on Passion Fruits, since we seem to be getting too personal with our posts. I'm sorry Han Solo.

Credit to Yahoo! Health

Nutritional Information
Good source of vitamins A and C.

What To Look For
Choose the largest, heaviest passion fruits. If ripe, the skin will be wrinkled but firm with a purple brown color. Smooth skin indicates that it is unripe.

Easy Storage and Preparation
Ripen at room temperature until the skin wrinkles. They will keep at room temperature for a few days, or longer in the refrigerator.

Best Uses
Use the juice to flavor drinks, fruit soups, dessert creams and custards. Although each fruit will yield very little juice, it will be very strong in flavor.

Are you serious? I don't think you're supposed to eat the seeds since they're too hard to consume. I haven't eaten this since I was really, really young.

aww man you beat me to it. lol

Early European explorers gave the plant its common name because the flower's complex structure and pattern reminded them of symbols associated with the passion of Christ. It was said that the flower contained the lashes received by Christ, the crown of thorns, the column, the five wounds and the three nails.
^from wikipedia.
Passion fruit juice is a good source of ascorbic acid (vitamin C) and carotenoids (vitamin A). It is rich-flavored and strongly, but pleasantly aromatic. The undiluted juice is highly concentrated but is an excellent additive to other fruit juices, or it may be drunk as an ade if water and sugar are added. The juice makes an excellent jelly, pie filling or cake frosting. Seeds with the surrounding juice sacs are often added to fruit salads in Australia. Fruit of the purple passion fruit (sweeter and less acid than the yellow) may be eaten by itself, seeds and all. juice of the giant granadilla has a milder flavor than that of the others and is used in confections or drinks. Its melonlike, edible flesh also can be pulverized and used in pies.
