For those who frequently exercise and have a healthy lifestyle where diet is not a diet but a lifestyle. How many pounds have you lost since you adapted to this lifestyle? Have you managed to maintain the weight you want and pants/dress size you want? What motivates you and keeps you determined?

question for anyone. Are you satisfied with how much you weigh and the shape you're in right now?

How many of you wake up early as around 7-9am? and how many of you go to sleep late and wake up late?

um, here we go. I'm not a guru @ exercising but i know a bit about it.
generally speaking exercise breaks down to ALOT of ways/style and it effects how much weight/strength u gain/loose

Heart rates comes into effect when you're doing aerobic, target heart rate, and the intensity + the duration of the exercise.
For example, I have a small bike/tredmill thing that i use, it calculate calories ect.... @ the speed of 12-14 miles per hour i burn 300 calories, that's really not much and that's pretty fast biking pace, u don't get the friction like you do if you bike for real so it's easier, but when u bike for real u also cruise and still maintain the speed, so it does cancels out, although machines usually require less work compare to freestyle. However exercise will raise your metabolism for quite some time after u done it, so in technical term u do loose quite a bit more calories (maybe 100-200 more, i'm not sure on this)

3500 calories lost = 1 pound lost for average people who needs 2500 calories a day. 2500 calories but 10% of that is to run your digestive system, so you're actually getting some benefit haha. Think of it as a bonus. I eat ALOT, and i eat fatty food, which is not good, but the mouth does what it wants, i can't control it. That's why even when i was in high school exercising playing sports 4 hours a day i still don't get thin.

Weight training on the other hand does not burn calories, it does but very little, HOWEVER, for each pound of muscles you burn an extra 30-40 calorie a day. So if you gain like 10 pounds of muscles you can go easier on the aerobic exercise, work the bigger muscles to gain mass quick.

I'm not happy with what i have, but i also know that no matter how much i exercise it will never work with the way i eat. Frankly it don't matter, i heard sex burns alot of calories, i figure once i can have sex i'll do it alot haha.

3500 = 1 pounds, if you can starve and exercise you can potentially loose 1 pound per day, but that's not gonna happen, not enough energy will shut the whole body down fast. I think a pound a week cut is good enough until you're lean.

I'm pretty satisfied with the shape I am in right now. I lost about 5 kgs in over 3 months and have kept it off ever since. I think my motiviation comes from the fact that I know that a healthy lifestyle is beneficial to me. I use to sleep quite late at night and get up very late in the morning, but I am beginning to wake up around 9am now and try to sleep by 12pm. I think I need that frame of mind once I start working.

Wahhh so many questions. Are you doing some kind of research for your class?

How many pounds have you lost since you adapted to this lifestyle? - I haven't lost a huge amount of weight in result of this routine, but I've been able to keep my weight the same for 4 years.

Have you managed to maintain the weight you want and pants/dress size you want? - It's the weight that I'm comfortable with. I'm not super skinny, but my doctor tells me that I'm healthy. My weight is appropriate for my age and height. That's good enough for me.

What motivates you and keeps you determined? - I started this routine when I started working. I realize that getting older means taking care of myself. My mommy is not always going to be with me to tell me to eat your veges or go play outside instead of sitting on the couch and watching tv.

Are you satisfied with how much you weigh and the shape you're in right now? - Yes, it's healthy and appropriate for the height and age.

How many of you wake up early as around 7-9am? and how many of you go to sleep late and wake up late? - I work a night shift so I sleep in until noon. I don't eat breakfast. Even if I don't work I never wake up before 10am and by then I'm saving my tummy for a big lunch. I love lunch.

LOL that was random. I'm not home but my roommates are home... so take your chance at it. Oh, just a note, we all keep a bat in the closet.

-my plan allows me to lose 2 lbs a week.
-yes, maintaining the weight and size is easy if you never stop doing what you've been doing. it's just if you see everything as a means to an end, and pick up the unhealthy habits again after you've reached your goal, that you revert back.
-in the beginning, just wanting to get healthier was motivation enough. now, it's become a routine, and i don't even think about it anymore.
-weekdays, i wake up at 6am, and go to bed around midnight or 1am. weekends, wake up around 10am. go to bed around 1 or 2 am.

I do treadmill, exercise cycle, weights, basic stuff like sit-ups + push ups and jump rope.
I'm always out of fitness during winer though but work into really good fitness in summer. I was extremely fit back during January-April but then began to slack of due to studies and personal life...
Getting back into fitness now and ready to play some sports again hopefully.

I've been active pretty much all my life. I used to kungfu when I was young until high school. I've stopped learning but I still practice and spar now and then.
I usually play badminton once a week and basketball once a week too.
I used to play soccer weekly too, but I developed shin splints about a year ago and haven't recovered since so extended periods of running is out of the picture for me so I took up swimming instead for a while (because that's the only form of exercise I could do for 3 months) - until I got slack/bored of it (haven't gone for about 3 months).

what has that done for me? I used to be skinny 175cm ~55-60kg when I finished high school but I've suddenly put on heaps of weight these past 2 or 3 years as I'm now 70kg. I'm trying to watch what I eat as it can only get worse as I get older.
What keeps me determined? Nothing really, I just play sports because it's fun. Keeping fit and not getting fat(ter) is a bonus.

Am I satisfied with where I am now? Not as satisfied as where I was when I was in uni, but I've resigned to the fact that my metabolism has slowed down and I now have love handles (fat on the left and right sides of lower back near kidneys) which I can't seem to get rid of no matter how much exercise I do.

I wake up at 7am everyday, but it's not to exercise, it's so I can make it to the bus in time to get to work.
