    Default Chicago, IL, USA

I'm going to Chicago next week for work and I would love to hear about good places to eat, hangout, shop, etc.

Some of the things I plan to do is:
    Eat a deep dish pizza
    Shop at the Magnificent Mile
    Play at the various casinos

I'm there for 7 days so I don't think the above will keep me occupy for long. Any other suggestions will be appreciated.
I would love to change the world, but they won't give me the source code.

go to navy pier, visit the shead aquarium, art museum, sears tower (o better yet just go to jhon hancock building for a drink, you get about the same view but only cast you a drink), eat some chicago style hot dog (wiener circle is the best, but prepare to get foul languages toss at you), cubs/sox game, free musical concerts on the northside street fairs, millennium park, might be able to catch the first day of the TASTE OF CHICAGO.
    Am i Crazy!?!?!?!

Woodfield Mall - since it's near my inn, make sense it'll be the first thing I checked out. Nice layout, clean environment, great stores, and plenty of good restaurants. I spent so much already. Probably won't have any money when I go shopping at the Magnificent Mile.

That wouldn't be a bad thing. The Magnificent Mile is best for window shopping and ripping off tourists.

Ice-skate on Michigan Ave, near the fountain

Grand Victoria Casino - alcohol isn't free! 'Nuff said.

Dagger Lee - you're from Chicago? Awesome. I'm looking for the best pizza place in town. Know of any? And if you know any other cool hangouts, be sure to share.

I went to Chicago a few months ago, but only for 2 days, well barely. Lol, perhaps it was the long drive and then lack of sleep, but I have a disliking to Chicago. Took my dad and me forever to find a hotel and everything! But the next day things lightened up. We visited the China town and that was fun. Had some dim sum which was awsome! The dumplings was just huge! Then did a little shopping which of course was fun. Found some good CDs and all! So guess the trip didn't turn out too bad ^_^ Will perhaps go back one day and enjoy more

That's pretty much why nobody goes there(at least the people I know). By the way, you ought to try some of the hot dogs too. Pick a small hot dog place, which is usually the best choice. It may not look like much but for some reason, smaller hot dog places are better than the bigger ones. You can also try going to Mitsuwa, which is located in Arlington Heights and isn't far from Woodfield Mall. People who work there are very polite and welcoming. Not to mention that the food is fresh and good.

Go to Navy Pier, Signature Room in John Hancock building. Uno's pizza is good, plenty of hot dog joints, SuperDawg is supposed to be the best, but I prefer Portillo's better. You can catch the Taste of Chicago in Grant Park, it started today.

Oh yeah, I might go there tomorrow. Wonder if I'll see any SPCNET members from here.

Nah, I live in the northwest side of Chicago. It's just that I have a lot of relatives in the suburbs and I occasionally visit them.

I'm posting this at the Apple Store in the Magnificent Mile.

The weather today is soo great! I spent the last few hours hanging out at the Taste of Chicago festival. Good food + nice weather + live music = a great time! Just wish I had some friends with me. But oh well...

I have the whole day to kill so I spent a lot of time walking around. I walked from Grant Park to the Sears Tower. Shopped around downtown for a bit and headed over to Millennium Park. Went back to Grant Park for a bit and finally walked to Magnificent Mile. If I try to do this in Houston, I would of died of dehydration already. Do you guys get weather like this in June all the time? Oh yea... the parks here are great! Wish Houston had something like it.

Ok, I'm about to head to Gino's East to try some of their pizzas. And then more walking.

Hopefully the weather won't suck by then.

Whatever you do, don't try the taste option for 3 tickets. It's a ripoff! By the way, the turkey leg is huge and is pretty good!

Back in Houston. Even though the weather sucks (it's raining), I'm glad to be back. Spending a week by yourself is TOO much alone time.

I wish I found that turkey leg tent sooner. By the time I found it, I already ate something else and had no room for it. But I had fun at the festival. Just be sure to bring something to sit on. You'll want to enjoy the live music sitting under a tree.

I hear that there are some good "Dim Sum" restaurants in the Chicago area. Can someone give me a recommendation of the best one to try during my visit? I've never had the pleasure of eating Dim Sum before, so I'm pretty excited. Also, I’m traveling with a collegue who is a party animal, any recommended of local clubs or bars in the area that are safe to hang out?

The Three Happiness is a good place in Chinatown so you can check that out. I actually have a friend who works at Furama, which isn't bad to try.
