Visit a licensed and registered practitioner of traditional Chinese medicine in your area. Then, you'd be sure that whatever you take (ingest) isn't going to harm you.

In the meantime, drink plenty of water and get lots of rest (including sleep).

And if you don't succeed in finding a licensed and registered practitioner of traditional Chinese medicine in your area, visit a doctor. There is supposed to be at least one more round of viral influenza this year, so make sure that you have not caught it.

Wrap yourself up in a THICK blanket and sweat it out.

luo han guo is great for your throat and cough!

Funny thing happened, I had a terrible cold on the weekend and I went to the Chinese medicine shop and brought some cold medicine from them. When I asked them if they think I can heal by Monday morning, the lady at the counter said, "Definitely not. You have to come in and see our Chinese doctor and they will prescribe some Chinese medicine. Then you will get better."

I thought she just wanted me to waste money going to see the doctor and buy medicine from them so I left. I got heaps better by Monday just by drinking a lot of hot water and going to bed early.

Once I tried eating raw ginger but it was for my sort throat. It didn't taste nice cos it was really spicy but after 1-2 hours later I was cured!!

I'll give them a try next time if I catch a cold.

Gosh. I'm having a sore throat right now! but is there anything nicer than ginger? I can't even stand it cooked, let alone raw.

Apparently, boiling cola with ginger is good for curing the cold.
