    Default Photoshop Tips?

I like toying around with it, but the most I can do is use the pre-customized tools ot add effects, i.e. dark strokes, etc. and it's very limited in what I can do. I've done some other work in terms of liquefication, but not very advanced.

    I'm interested in doing:

    1) touch up on faces, i.e. making people look skinnier, adding make-up, etc. ~ What are the best tools?

    2) Combining bakgrounds and photos, blending ~ Tools?

    Thanks!

i know practically nothing about this, but net told me that he used gaussian blur to smooth out the skin and then painted his teeth white and apparently the healing tool allows you to get rid of blemishes on the skin, but my version of photoshop is a bit outdated and doesn't have this function... Adjusting lighting/contrast usually helps, but i've never tried to make anyone skinnier

set the picture to black and overlay.

gaussian blur works best ---> you duplicate the layer with your picture;; then guassian blur and set it on overlay. (:

for makeup/changing eye color;; i use a paintbrush and color over on a new layer then set it on overlay. or soft light... or any blending modes and change the transparent levels to make it match.

i dunno some good tutorials i get from are at pslover so yea.

for blending i use the erase and overlays.

Thanks guys I tried the whitening thing on my face....made me look like a ghost in some pics, but one of them helped make a cell phone camera look profesional haha. Now I have to practice the layering thing.

    Actually Gugu, teach me here.

I did some work, I wanted to post it. Any other cool effects? I only played with Sumi-E and dark strokes.

    Yearning,

Do you know how to make everything black and white and only the things you want colored, colored? I do. It's an easy one.

Hehehe, I meant the face! Look at her face! I made her face smoother, changed her jaw lines, and her chin longer. And also her nose is smaller, her eyes got bigger. hahaha

Dah, natural is always better. Your modifications make her look plastic and fake.

    Unfortunately, that's what guys like.

Sorry, to go off topic here. But SS, you still owe all of us a pic! Along with Pembie and 0-0-0! SS, can you re-open the digital photo thread, but delete all the comments or move them into another thread like how the childhood photo is set up?

There may be many ways to achieve an effect in Photoshop. I'll describe what I'd do.

    1. Open image.
    2. Go Image/Mode/16 Bits
    3. Now go Image/Mode/Grayscale *Discard color information Ok
    4. Go Image/Mode/RGB
    5. Create a blank layer
    6. Now just need to paint the areas you want on the new layer. If the area is solid color, you can use the Magic wand tool to select the area then fill. Or just use the Brush tool painting the area you want in.
    7. Finally you can leave the Layer Opacity as is or you can tone it down.

*I found using the Grayscale method better. Desaturate gives a grainy result.

Due to several complaints, I will stop using the terms "Babe" and "Baby" in reference to our female counterpart. They will now be replaced with "B*tch."
