lol, i eat hot vit lon all da time, kindda used to it, i can't even smell it. BTW if you want a duck pet, buy some hot vit lon @ the super market n put it under the light for a couple days, it'll hatch, I live in CA and people who bought them the whole tray hatch because of the warm weather, but some of them die because people leave them out in the cold at night, cheapest pet you can get haha.

naw, i think you all are getting the wrong idea, it's like this

Raw egg (like the one you get at the super market, just crack it and eat it, like those muscles builder eating raw egg, rather they just drink it, i ate it once, drinking it might not be that bad, because they just swallow it, eating it is pretty bad)

Hot Vit muoi (this is the salted egg, it doesn't taste funky, just egg with salt, the egg is boiled then salted)

Hot Vit Bap Thao (this is the funky one, it's preserved egg using coal or something like that, it has this dark *** color and smells weird)

Hot Vit lon (this is the egg that's about to hatch, when you eat it sometimes you're eating a small duck inside)

I think for hot vit lon, i can eat everything accept the fetus itself.. something about eating babies wasn't a turn on *blush* I commend all who can eat it.

it seriously works? I didn't think they would hatch. But i know there are restaurants in lil Saigon that has the "LAU HOT VIT LON" hot pot. IT sounds good tho. never got to try

hey, if u crack it out already u got to eat it right? haha, but yeah, they hatch, those things are almost hatching already, you leave them in warm temp area they'll hatch for sure. I know because my neighbor bought a rack of them, and they kept hatching (happens to other people in my area too), they can't kill it so they try giving them away as pets, people get them but some of them die off, i never got one because i don't wanna kill it.

But ducks are real easy to raise, the 1st month keep them in the house so it's warm enough, when they're old enough you can throw them out in a yard and give them a dog house or something, and they'll eat anything human eat, so it's not too bad. They're dirty as hell though.

you know, it could be lime, i'm not sure but the end result is a very jelly like egg, they serve it at some of the vietnamese weddings with cold food like hams and stuff, i don't like eating it but if i have to i will.

Yes, I love to eat them. But I don't eat the whole thing. Only the yellow part. My dad will suck the juice, and eat the whole thing.

It's not all that bad you know. lol, it does taste a little fishy if you eat it plain. I dip it in a pepper sauce and it takes the fishy smelly and taste away.

    Sure...I think most Asians do.
    Filipinos, Laotions, Thais, Cambodians, Chinese...
    Not sure about Japanese tho.

It's great beer food and supposedly an aphrodisiac Balut is a Filipino word I believe.

Due to several complaints, I will stop using the terms "Babe" and "Baby" in reference to our female counterpart. They will now be replaced with "B*tch."
