What makes a fighting sequence/scene good and a great read?

Please post up your favorite fighting scenes from the novels (please also list where yo got it from). Preferably translated to English.

Tips for writing a good sword fighting scene? Or any other weapon sparring against a sword.

When it is dramatic and has something to do with the plot, rather than: "You there, some random person, you insulted me unknowingly, now I have to exchange skills with you."

I liked Sweeper's fight, it was comical in my mind although a bit random as I stated above but it revealed light on the history of the two in shao lin.
