    To Bonniec1,
Where did you buy the DVDs?? I am waiting forever for the Taiwan or US version DVDs since I don't like the CHina version at all. I saw it at sensasian.com but they were way too expensive for the China version. Yesasia does not have them anymore. Yea, Xie Zhi sings the songs for the Taiwan version not the China version. I want the Taiwan or US version, but hopefully the Taiwan version since he sings the songs.
Thanks for your support on my translating, but trust me... Not all of the fans supported me and even accused me of infringing copyrights. I was sooo shocked since she is one of the fans that can't read Chinese at all...I don't want her to say this and that... This was at the AF forums where more of his fans come to. Even if I did translate, I may not post it here since barely any of his fans come here. But I may give it a try when I have time and let you read it first to see what you think.... Thanks again for your support!! I really appreciate it.

Hi Trinie: I bought the DVDs at a big Chinese mall near where I live (Toronto), though I'm not sure if it is pirated copy since it doesn't seem too clear when there is action(eg. fighting scenes). I'm already on episode 11. I'll probably end up picking up a Taiwanese version since it is pretty good so far. Xie Zhi is just amazing in his role.

Trinie, sadly it is true if you translate the whole biography word for word. However. . .there is a way to get by that. You can translate only certain parts, summarizes in review-type of format as what a fan website would do and that would be okay. I agree that it is extremely dissappointing for fans who cannot read chinese. As for me, I want to buy it but since my Chinese is not good enough to read it. . .I would only get criticized by my family for being overly obsessed and wasting money. X_x If he sold an English version, I would definately buy it.

XieZhi. . .go back to school and study english so we can communicate!!! either that or I study chinese a bit harder. lol. Jia you, to the both of us, I suppose.

    Hi Bonnie!
Oh so you bought the DVDs in a store. I saw them too but I think they are pirated, so I am waiting for the actual Taiwan or US version. I was watching parts of this series online and really like it too.. But don't have time to see more now...

    Hi Cinnamon,
Actually, others that support me told me differently. They told me that I am doing it just for fun and am not publishing it or anything like that, so it is ok. I should state that as well. A lot of fans do wu xia novels word for word all the time(you should check the Wu Xia translations thread in this forum and you will see what I mean). It is merely just for fans' enjoyment so I thought it wasn't a big deal at all. Also, I am translating in my words too. I may do certain parts that I think is the most interesting then instead of the whole book.... But lets see if anyone really wants to read it or supports me. MY friend translated Jimmy Lin's entire army diary and no one said anything. I am sure Jimmy himself would not have minded at all. I mean, we don't get anything for it and wasn't publishing it for profit or anything.
By the way, at first I thought you said that Xie Zhi was really going back to school to study English. Sorry to disappoint you but I can tell you right now that that will never come true. Xie Zhi has no interest in learning English at all and he hates to study!!!I think I really need to translate that part for you to read.(He said so many times). I think one day he may regret it though since it is so useful to know English these days.
Back to this series, I saw some parts on youtube and actually feel sorry for his character... I mean, he is evil in some ways but it is because he loves Liu Tao's character so much. I think she doesn't deserve his love at all...The main guy is SO annoying too. What does Liu Tao find in him?? I am still shocked that she picked him over Xie Zhi.

lol. I was only joking. . .I know very well xiezhi has poor english and partly because he has no interest in learning it. XD I may try japanese. . .maybe he will relate to that more. . .I took 4 years of japanese. . .if he wrote a book in japanese , maybe I can figure that one out. XD but I doubt he is fluent enough to do such a thing. . .lol. though, maybe that will be even better for me. . .since we both have basic japanese! That means we can both use really simple words to communicate. . .

lol. that is such a hilarious thought. . .xiezhi and I standing there thinking of simple words we can say and understand in japanese. . .we'll never get pass "konichiwa, hajime mashite douzo yoroshiku onegaishimasu!"

I agree that xiezhi will probably not make a big deal out of you translating his book. Though, it is true what the other person said. . .no matter how many times it was done and not legally objected. Anywho, I support you as well since I want to know what it says. XD XD XD I will definately have interest in reading it. Can even help you make a xiezhi fan website to post it if you want. Then we can just link it once in his threads, instead of you having to post it many times in many different threads. ^^ But that's for when you have time, I suppose. Just to assure you that there are people interested in reading if you are interested in translating.

    **********

hehe, back on topic. After watching a few episodes, I do think I understand Liu Tao's character a bit better. I can understand why she likes the other guy. . .but the thing that gets to me is that they don't give Qian Xing (xiezhi) enough credit. It may be that he is heartless (almost), calculating (this is definately true), selfish (to an extent), evil (I still debate this idea), but it's how he was raise and his background. The characters seem to think of themselves as good, righteous, and understanding, but can't even think of how they would have been if they grew up with his circumstances. . . .the good guys are all hypocrits. . .that's why they seem so annoying.

Yea, Xie Zhi does know some Japanese since he has a lot interest in learning that.. I don't think he is fluent enough to write a book though...

Don't be sad Cinnamon... I can translate for you if we ever get to meet Xie Zhi.. It was funny when I saw the 2004 concert how Ren Fu only said one word to him in English and he already said that he did not understand. Therefore, Ren Fu had to speak Taiwanese for him to understand. It was so cute and funny though.

Well, if it is that big of a deal, than I can just do parts of the book here and there that I think is the most interesting and only share it privately instead of on public forums. It would be great if we had a fansite where I can share it privately with fans that won't accuse me of this and that... Thanks for your support... I feel it is a big loss for the Xie Zhi fans that cannot read Chinese since you really get to know so much about Xie Zhi from his biographies. I am actually trying to help XieZhi and his fans who are Chinese illiterate. He even said that he will risk his life so that people can notice him and know more about him. Thanks for your support! I really appreciate it. Also, I skimmed through asianfanatics and saw that people said that there were problems with his girlfriend and mother... Honestly, I had a strong feeling that that would the case... Based on what I know about his mom, she seems to be a somewhat difficult person. It's not that she is a bad mom, but... you have to read his biographies to know what I mean.... That is why I want to translate it(or at least parts of it) for you and other fans to know more about him and his relationship with his mom. I also don't have a positive feeling about his girlfriend either (don't know exactly why, but I just don't). Yea, I have to wait until I have time since I am too stressed with school right now...

By the way, I saw that there is a soundtrack for this series... I am looking everywhere for it but don't see it for sale anywhere. I just hope that they include Xie Zhi's songs from this series on the new 5566 album. The songs are so nice and have meaningful lyrics.

I guess even though Xie Zhi is evil in here, I really sympathize with him. It is rare that I sympathize with bad guys since most of them are despicable.. I agree that they don't give Qian Xing enough credit... I really don't like Liu Tao's character that much.... I can't believe she can treat Qian Xing the way she does sometimes. The good guys are all hypocrites and are extremely annoying.. I think Xie Zhi really steals the show even though he is the evil character in here... It makes him extra special.

Does anyone mind telling me the ending? I don't mind spoilers... I just hope that Xie Zhi's character did not die a tragic death.

    Hi Trinie:

Great idea about a fansite for Xie Zhi in English. There are some around, but they are really outdated. I'm off-topic, but I started a thread for Xie Zhi in the Actors section since there wasn't one. No replies yet, I guess most of his fans are at asianfanatics.

Anyways, the series is good so far, though Cang Feng is so annoying. I wonder why they couldn't get a better looking and acting main lead?

    Hi Bonnie,
Yea, it would be great to have one in English but I don't have time to make one.... I am so stressed due to school right now. I will do some translations when I have time though. Based on what I have seen so far, I really like this series. Cang Feng is extremely annoying... I agree with you, couldn't they find someone better looking guy to play that role?? Oh yea, I saw the part where Xie Zhi kissed that one girl(sorry suddenly forgot her name). I thought they were going to get lovely dovely, but then he threw a fast one on her... I thought it was kind of evil of him, but kind of funny as well... Thanks for starting a thread on Xie Zhi. I am going there right now...

Just wanted to add that Liu Tao's character Yi Yi is kind of annoying too. I feel so bad for Qian Xing when he loves her so much, but she doesn't return any of his love at all... What does she see in Ceng Feng?? Gosh, the main couple is so annoying in here....

Hi WindCross, thanks for the links. Are you planning to put up the remaining episodes anytime soon? I haven't actually gotten around to understand how to use the torrents, so I'm afraid I'll have to wait for someone to upload the remaining episodes onto the net, in the form of tudou or youtube before I'll start on this show. Thanks again!

I just saw some more of this series and am starting to really dislike Liu Tao's character... How can she treat Qian Xing/Xie Zhi like that??? She slapped him several times... Gosh, I was really mad.... I wish that Qian Xing would stop loving her since she DOES NOT deserve his love....

I agree with you Trinie. The way that Yi Yi treats Qian Xing is just not fair. On another note, I finished watching half of the series and it is still pretty fast paced and the story is interesting. Plus the CGI effects not bad. I have no complaints so far, except for Cang Feng of course.

Glad that you agree with me Bonnie.. I have only seen parts of the series here and there since I am way too busy with school. Also, since I have not bought the DVDs for the series yet(I am still waiting for the Taiwanese/US version to come out, I wonder when it will be coming out), I have go online to see it and I don't like to watch series online..Glad to hear that the plot is good and not draggy. I can't wait until I have time to see it al myself...

Yea, Liu Tao's character/Yi Yi is really pissing me off.. I mean, I can understand if she loves Cang Feng... BUT, at least treat Qian Xing better and be more fair to him... Gosh, I honestly don't understand what Qian Xing finds in her... He should find someone whom he loves and will love him back..

Thanks for the spoiler TeresaL. I agree totally- Xie Zhi is so much better than the lead actor. Actually, I think a lot of the supporting actors/actresses are even better than the lead actor. Also, I wish Xie Zhi had more screen time.

I'm watching this series now and it is pretty good. It has an interesting storyline and very likeable characters which is important to me. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it will have a nice ending. I find the lead actor okay and Tony Sun is quite convincing as the evil Qian Xing. Liu Tao looks very beautiful here.

My favourite couple is not Cang Feng and Yi Yi or Qiang Xing and Yi Yi but Yao Lang and Wu Xin. They make a very cute couple. Enjoyed watching the scenes of them with the guy who was an expert in using the whip. This couple's relationship is innocent and sweet.

Below are 2 pics (credits to SINA) of Yao Lang acted by Tian Jia Da
