    Default Turtle

    ROCH1983

    In this scene from Episode 13, Xiao LongNu placed Yang Guo's pet turtle on the table.

    $this->handle_bbcode_img_match('http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u155/LOCHROCHHSDS/ROCH1983_13.jpg')

    Later in Episode 37, the turtle was on top of the Ice Bed.

    $this->handle_bbcode_img_match('http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u155/LOCHROCHHSDS/ROCH1983_37a.jpg')

    How did the turtle climb the bed?
    Did the turtle use Ancient Tomb qinggong?
    If either Yang Guo or Xiao LongNu went back to the Ancient Tomb in between Episode 13 through 37 and put the turtle on the Ice Bed, it will become a frozen turtle by the time Xiao LongNu found it.

    He said "Mie at the top, Jue at the bottom". She replied "Yes, Absolute Annihilation...

    You must have a unique copy of ROCH '83 because on both my old 1980s VHS tapes and my 2006 DVD set, neither scene features any BUND music.

    The location and geography of Mt. Hua also completely changed between the time of Hung 7 Gung and Au Yeung Fung's final duel and the end of ROCH when their old associates went to pay tribute to them. At the time of the duel, Mt. Hua was some remote snowy mountain peak; at the end of ROCH, it was a low hill slope with long green grass. Seasons might change, but an entire topography?

    Must be some powerful martial arts indeed...

    One of ROCH1983's biggest blooper is how Guo Jing told Yang Guo about how his father died, not once, but twice. Go capture that.

    I watch my serials in Mandarin that's how I can hear the Bund background music. I changed to Cantonese and it has totally different background music.

Hell, by the end of ROCH '83, they were so pressed for production budget that they shot parts of the final battle of Seung Yeung inside some studio room with cellophane walls and *disco lights*.
    Ahhh the famous "disco lights" of the XiangYang Battle

    How the heck those 36000 Song soldiers could see the little flag that Huang Yaoshi was waving?

    Lu WuShuang and Cheng Ying were supposed to lead 4000 Song soldiers with their Wood formation but they stayed with Huang YaoShi handling those little flags. For awhile, I thought they were about to do the "YMCA" with those colorful little flags and the blaring disco lights.

    ROCH 1983

    This scene is the areal shot of fireworks celebration in Episode 50 honoring Yang Guo's heroic achievement.

    Isn't that the neon lights of Victoria Harbor? I always thought XiangYang was in Hubei Province in Central China.

    ROCH 1983

    Here is Liang ZiWeng at the Iron Spear Temple in Episode 46 along with Sha TongTian, Hou TongHai, and Peng LianHu. They were waiting to meet with Ke Zhen'e.

    $this->handle_bbcode_img_match('http://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u155/LOCHROCHHSDS/ROCH1983_46a.jpg')

    The problem with the scene is that in LOCH 1983, Liang ZiWeng was accidentally killed by Guo Jing at the hill of Mount Hua. TVB should have just followed the novel with Ling Zi instead.

    The fact that he might have survived the fall after Gwok Jing threw him off a cliff at Mt. Hua (after all, this is wuxia, a genre in which characters survive falls off sheer cliffs all the time) doesn't bother me nearly as much as the fact that forty years after last being sighted, Leung Tze Yung doesn't look a day older...and neither do his clothes, which he has worn for the past forty years!

    ROCH 1983

    Here is Huang Rong examined Guo Xiang's jade pendant that was dropped in Episode 49. They concluded that Guo Xiang was captured by JinLun FaWang. Huang Rong, Reverend YiDeng and Zhao BoTong then left to pursue JinLun FaWang.

    After Xiao LongNu displayed her new Heartbreak Swordplay to Yang Guo, the Condor found Guo Xiang's jade pendant in Episode 50. What's the chance that mother and daughter will drop the same jade pendant in one night?

    Liang ZiWeng's herbs and snakes blood must be the secret ingredient for his longevity. The same question applies to Xiao LongNu's clothing which still in great condition after 16 years. Where did she get all those furnitures, housewares and books?

    Or how about Yang Guo having long term memory problems. Guo Jing told him that he named him Yang Guo, two times!!! Yang Guo seems very surprised the second time he heard it. Apparently, he ignored what Guo Jing said to him the first time.

    I also hear background music from DGSD, Young Heroes from Shaolin as well. And of course they had the LOCH music, but at least that is acceptable.

    Yes, I think even Batman and Superman after 40 years, even they would have a new set of wardrobes as well.
