Hi all. Here are some pics from my Las Vegas trip. It was a scorching 112 F everyday, but still lots of fun. sorry about the blurry pics. I have shaky hands, and plus, i took those pics from the top of the Eiffel Tower at the Paris, and it's all fenced in. I had to wedge my camera between the cracks, careful not to drop it 30 stories.

Your hotel room shocked me as well. Which hotel was it and how much per night? I can see a small party being thrown in there.

hee hee, it's the venetian. and that was the cheapest room. price starts at $179. the rest of the hotel is even prettier, with painted ceilings like the Sistine Chapel and marble floors, and gondoliers in the canals, singing in italian. i didn't take many pics this time bc i've been there before.

the price is a little steep for me, but my friend was there for a convention, so the hotel room was free.

i recommend going there with a significant other. the mood is very romantic.

on an aside, my hotel room had 3 tvs. and 6 chinese language channels, including 2 tvb ones. i was watching the conflict and police cadet 85 while taking a bath.

i don't mind telling. about $450. i was up $250 in the beginning, too! and i lost it all back + $450 + however much this creepy dude gave me, probably about $50.

the lesson here is don't gamble. or if you do, quit when you're ahead and don't be greedy and try to win more. and definitely don't try to win your money back. i wish i listen to my own advice.

it sure was depressing walking around jimmy choo and louis vuitton knowing that i had just enough cash for the taxi ride back to the airport.

but because i lost, i was bored enough to go take touristy pics at the Paris casino, and i met these two cute european guys...but...that's another story.

i was good luck for other people at my tables, though. -_- i helped this guy win about $1200 bucks. he kept having me cut cards. i wish he had given me some pity cash for my trouble.

i forgot to mention this weird scene.

i saw an old bald, chinese guy, in an undershirt and shorts sitting at a black jack table. he was rubbing his old, crusty foot, while making $200 bets.

i've been to casinos once (yeah that's right once), i don't like it, if i'm in vegas i'll probably do something else. I'm not a gambler especially when i know that the house is holding an edge over me, if it's 50/50 i'll play it, and the smoking in there is soooo soooo bad, i got sick after i get home, I know there's none smoking sections but because of the amount of people and the enclosure of casino it makes no difference. BTW what game did you play?

the smoke wasn't that bad in the bigger casinos, because those tend to be large, open areas with good ventilation. it was only really bad when you had a smoker at your table, bc they would just blow the smoke everywhere. one girl kept blowing it in the air, like a show or something. -_- i'm glad she lost.

and i only played blackjack this time. sometimes i play a little pai gow poker. i watched my friend play, and then lose at craps, 3 card poker, and carribbean stud poker.

i heard craps and baccarat have the best odds, followed by blackjack.

black jacks has the best odd if u play it right, card counting put you over the house by like 1.005 or something like that, usually u're still under the house (if the realize you're card counting they'll escort you out), craps as decent odd, but again will be under the house, pai gow poker is actually one of the better game in the casino, but you still be under the house, it's like .98XX or something like that if you play it right, if the table allows you to be house (taking turns) you'll even out the odd and actually have better odds than the house, but that's if you can pay up when u loose. This is why people don't like to be house like casino. Other than that these games has got pretty straight up rules to remember, like if you're holding 2 pairs, then the decision to split or to hold both together depends on the other 3 cards in your hands, they have tables for this. Same thing with black jack, but if you're card counting in blackjack then the rules get complicated and will require about 1 week or 2 of remember all the rules.

You should play TEXAS Holden at the smaller casinos..it's fun.

I was in Vegas the end of July and that's like my 7th times..That place is growing like crazy..have any of you guys visit Chinatown ? I swear all those Asian Plazas and restaurants werent' there a year ago. They are growing out of control...They have many asian restaurants now.

All I know is that I went to my first 24-hour Korean restaurant in Vegas. I was hungry as heck at 2AM!

You can't card count effectively much nowadays in Vegas. They use 7 decks and shuffle after about 1 deck is used up. Even if you have superpowered eyes and memory, you can't track the cards thru the shuffle since it is machine shuffled in hidden view. So unless you have X-Ray eyes...

they have single deck black jack at the wynn. and most places use 8 deck, not 7.
