Default Who is your favorite US president?

Out of all US presidents in history, which one do you like the most?
Also, which one do you dislike the most?

For me, the favorite is probably FDR. Not only did he hold a record by serving FOUR consecutive terms, he lifted the country out of shittidom and basically transformed America, and the way Americans think, in the process. I've been told that some people genuinely believe FDR ruined the country with his new policies. His influences on America now is extremely great. Can any other US president of the 20th century be said to have achieved greater influence than he?

yea i like FDR too. despite his push for the NEw Deals to work by making some of them unconstitutional, they did help the country get out of the Depression. and entering WWII as well.

Abe, JFK, and Reagan are some of my other favs.

Hoover, Bush 1 and 2, and Nixon are my least favs.

    Agreed.

    Lincoln and FDR.

Clinton is the best President IMO in recent years. He may like to grope ladies, but as President he did well, especially when you compare him to his successor...

In my lifetime, the best has been Ronald Reagan (1981-1989). He wasn't perfect. He wasn't a saint. There was an aura of confident leadership about him, however, that has been absent in the three Presidents that have served after him.

The 1980s were also very stable, quiet times for the U.S. The Cold War was still on, but the Cold War was (strangely as it seems from today's perspective) comfortingly predictable.

    Bill Clinton > Reagan.

And i think this type of thinking will be enhanced by whichever Democratic president that won the next election.

If I remember correctly, Regan got the country into so much debt with his extravagant military spendings. It was Clinton who finally balanced the debt... and now we're in more debt, thanks to Dubya.

FDR was a great President but was unfortunately rather blind to the danger that Stalin posed. Another favorite is Harry Truman who has been listed as the most underrated President of them all.

although Reagan did bump up military spending, it was for the greater good for keeping us isolated and out of wars, and keeping us into out previous conservative values. he brought back the pride of being American after Vietnam and the Nixon scandal.
