Hu Ge's costumes are really bad. Xiao Yao's outfits were much better than this. God, Hu Ge's bang is soooo annoying. Almost every of his series he sports bang in them.

Sad to hear Ady's not in this production. I would definitely love to see another of XY's & YR's love again. Yang Mi's not bad. Her chemistry with Hu Ge in LZ1 was very good. I also like her costume. It reminds me somewhat of Xiao Qi's costumes from Seven Fairies. Liu Shi Shi looks just like she was in LZ2, just different clothing. What did they do to Wallace!? He could use a better look to enhance his handsomeness. Newcomer Tang Yan is not bad. So far I like the way she look. I would prefer the pairing to be Hu Ge & Yang Mi, Wallace & Tang Yan. I don't care about Liu Shi Shi.

I think if he continues to film ancient series, he would continue with the bangs... i guess it's also meant to hide the scar on his eye that he has from his accident..

Just like how Guo Jing had the bangs in the later part of ROCH... i think those were filmed after his accident, and the bangs were meant to cover the scar...

For those curious about the pairings, it will be Hu Ge, Yang Mi and Liu Shishi in a love triangle, with HG and YM being mutually in love and LSS being in love with HG. Wallace and Tang Yan play a couple on their own.

As for the characters, assuming they stick to the original story, the protagonist Jing Tian (Hu Ge) is a pawnshop assistant who gets involved in an internal feud between members of the Tang Manor and their rival clan. Xue Jian (Yang Mi) is the beloved granddaughter of the Tang Manor's leader and seeks Jing Tian's help for revenge after her granddad dies.

Chang Qing is the top martial student of Mt Shu Sect (the sword sect Jiang Ming and Jian Sheng belonged to in Xian Jian 1) and next in line to the sect's leadership. However, he gets expelled from the sect after falling in love with Zi Xuan (Tang Yan) and marrying her against his teacher's wishes. Zi Xuan is supposed to be the ascendant of Ling'er (from Xian Jian 1) and like Ling'er, is also a descendant of the Goddess Nuwa.

Long Kui (Liu Shishi) is a sword spirit with dual personalities and was a princess when she was alive. It turns out that Jing Tian was her beloved brother, the prince, in his previous life and the sword which houses her spirit belongs to him.

Pls read my previous post in page 1 regarding XJ1, 2 and 3. Anyhow, Li Guoli has stated that the plot in XJ2 is not suitable to be adapted into a TV series.

so chinese paladin 3 is base off those swordsmen myth, where 2 guys challenge each other to forge best swords? isn't this the story in Chinese Ghost Story with Daniel Chan n Barbrie xiu(spelling). i hope this one has alot of action scenes.

Hu Ge is probably my fave actor at the moment and YM favourite actress...so I've been waiting to see them lead in a series together again! (Liao Zhai was fabulous but so tragic and MUCH too short.) I'm thrilled YM could take this role even though she's in HLM, but I hope she won't wear herself out too much. Costumes could do with some improvement though...I like everyone's except HG & YM's. Well, YM's is decent, but the boots not so much. HG's just looks...awful. On the other hand, LSS looks gorgeous! Only saw her in SNYJJ before, where she looked pretty at times but not that beautiful.

Thanks a lot for the article translation. That was just the cutest thing to read. I really like how YM gets all nervous around Hu Ge and it's awesome to know his presence in the series caused her to consider the role even more. They had great chemistry in Liao Zhai and hopefully they'll be able to have the same great chemistry, if not better, in XJ3. It'd be cool if they did some promos together for this series. Was there any for Liao Zhai? I don't think i really come across promos for these ancient series or maybe Chinese series in general. I'd like to see how they interact with one another in real life.

And i was wondering if they were going to have a nice and sweet love story in XJ3 or if it was going to be of the bickering type. I guess it's one of those bickering types where they will eventually realize that they have a thing for each other.

thanks mango...yang mi sounds really star struck. it's very cute. i also wish her costume in this series was better. i think that nicest costume belongs to tang yan. that purple dress is very pretty. lss's dress is a bit much although she looks very good in that pose.

huge and ym's relationship sounds like huge and ady's although this time, the ending is good for ym's character.

I agree, TY's costume is the best, but LSS' makeup and hair make her look so regal and beautiful. Hopefully they'll decide to come up with something better for the main leads.

The article probably exaggerated the whole "HG was the biggest reason YM chose the role" though--even the subtitle for the YM segment was "Yang Mi escapes Da Guan Yuan for Hu Ge" (da guan yuan being the garden in HLM). Way to make it dramatic! Or perhaps YM was just in a super fangirly mood after meeting HG for the costume fitting... Anyhow, forgot to mention that in another article, it says YM admits it will be very tiring to go back and forth between filmings for two series, but it's definitely worth it because she loves the characters of both Qing Wen and Xue Jian. Apparently she's even part of the "Xue Jian Pai"? I'm not into gaming so I don't know exactly what that means but sounds like Xue Jian is YM's favourite XP character, which probably was another major reason she wanted the role. I'm so glad the HLM team allowed her to do this though, because it would suck if she missed out on a lead role with Hu Ge for a maid role (even if it is HLM...)
