so chinese paladin 3 is base off those swordsmen myth, where 2 guys challenge each other to forge best swords?

No, this is not the story. baidu has a full summary of the story in mandarin but i dont have time to translate it now. Basically, its very fantasy-like with lots of past lives/reincarnations between characters, magic swords, battle between Gods and stuff.

And i was wondering if they were going to have a nice and sweet love story in XJ3 or if it was going to be of the bickering type. I guess it's one of those bickering types where they will eventually realize that they have a thing for each other.

Its going to be the bickering type. In fact, their relationship is very similar to Xiaoyao and Yueru's in Chinese Paladin. Hu Ge's character in here sounds pretty similar to Xiayao and Yang Mi's character sounds like an exact replica of Yueru. Her character, Xue Jian is a spoilt and sassy rich girl with a kind and caring heart.

Apparently she's even part of the "Xue Jian Pai"? I'm not into gaming so I don't know exactly what that means but sounds like Xue Jian is YM's favourite XP character, which probably was another major reason she wanted the role.

"Xue Jian Pai" literally translates to Xue Jian Sect (fangroup), which means shes a fan of the character, Xue Jian.

The article probably exaggerated the whole "HG was the biggest reason YM chose the role" though--even the subtitle for the YM segment was "Yang Mi escapes Da Guan Yuan for Hu Ge" (da guan yuan being the garden in HLM). Way to make it dramatic! Or perhaps YM was just in a super fangirly mood after meeting HG for the costume fitting...

Haha, i figured that was the case but still, it was nice to even read about YM's supposed fangirling over Hu Ge.

yeah i was reading the story of cp3 game from another site...it sounds like the part of the story from tiawanese chinese ghost story with daniel chan and barbie xu...part about 3 swordsmen who forge swords, 2 guys 1 girl. who creates the better sword supposedly gets the girl disciple....a evil comet hits earth, one of guys uses it and turns the sword evil, kills everyone....then reincarnates into one of male leads....its the final battle of the series.

hu ge-jing ting was a god his pass life who fought a evil demon, having disobey orders was sentence to be reborn, 1st life was master swordsmith forged demonic sword or something.(one of the swords from tvb Zu warriors from magic mountain, legend of zu if anyone watch those series, movie)

having lost fought against demon dude from loss of concentration, demon dude saught rematch after learning it, meets jing ting 1000 years later trying to get him to regain memories. something like that.

The story sounds excellent and the pair of Yang mi n Hu Ge is love I bet we all miss them since their last collaboration in Liao Zhai.


I don't really like Liu Shi Shi just because I'm not a fan of a soft looking girl. I hope she don't linger around Hu Ge's character too much as she's a sword spirit and her sword is supposed to be hu ge's. I'd love to see the love developpement from Hu Ge n Yang mi's character. I'm a sucker for bicker turned lover's plot..hehe

yeah i hope too, i hate that kind of character. And for sure hope LSS's acting improve in this series, because if not, will ruin some aspects in this series. No more 'blank' expressions

He looks good with those bangs i luv it. But i think he always looks great in the ancient series no matter what, because somehow he gives the atmosphere of "hero"

Yes. No doubt, he looks very good with it. But after the reoccurence, it gets tiring seeing the same old look on him.

I definitely prefer straight hair too but i first came across wavy/curlish hair when i saw Theresa Lee's character with it in Legendary Siblings 1 and i thought she looked ultra cute with it and i didn't think it was out of place. Actually, when i saw Yang Mi's hair style for XJ3, i totally thought of Theresa. So yeah, Yang Mi's hair is quite nice in XJ3.

Yeah, seeing the screencaps makes me really want to see this series along with how Hu Ge and Yang Mi are gonna interact in the series.

I never get tired of Hu Ge's bangs either. I prefer that he has some kind of bangs than none at all.

yeah i agree with the bangs. i guess your use to seeing the bangs. its like when he acts series, he looks cooler, then when he acts playful you can tell he's really playful...to me hair is an important factor to an actor. yang mi hair also reminds me of that girls hair in tian wei fei xian who gets with bobby.

it'll be nice if they wouldve used her n the cat girl in more series of lgl. after seeing those pictures, costumes doesn't look too bad, just hope there alot of good action scenes.

I still think Hu Ge's hair makes him look he's just gotten out from bed. The bang's are actually okay, makes him look slightly silly but earnest. But i would prefer they not bun up all his hair on top because together with the bangs, it makes him look feminine.

YM's hair and new costume looks alright in those pics. In fact, I think she looks better in the filming pics than the costume-fitting ones.

Anyhow, judging from the article, there will be plenty of comical scenes between the constantly bickering couple. Hu Ge also described YM as cute and says that even though he hasnt seen her for a few years, she hasnt changed much though her acting skills have matured.
