Hey, yeah..I'm mandarin/cantonese sort of because my dad is canto, and my mom is mandarin so I understand briefly both languages...but now I'm so into Thai series!!!
Hello, and welcome to the forum! I think it's great that movies allow people to immerse in another's culture.
As for me, I'm 1/2 Chinese, 1/2 Vietnamese. My mom's Vietnamese and Sichuanese, but because she was brought up in Guangdong, she speaks Cantonese a little more fluently than Vietnamese. My dad, on the other hand, is Vietnamese and Taiwanese, and can speak both equally fluently. So as a result, I can understand all 3 languages. Reading/speaking/writing is a different matter, though

While I question the placement of this thread, I am Chinese. I was born in China, went to the States when I was 8 and I now live in Australia. I have been in Australia for 9 years and I am an Australian citizen. I speak Mandarin and can understand some Cantonese.

i so thought this thread would be about taiwanese food.
i once had this thing at a taiwanese restaurant that was gelatinous and fried. at first, it was good. but as you kept eating, it started to take on the consistency of booger.

I'm a Singaporean who looks like a Taiwanese.
I like Taiwanese snacks.
I have colleagues and friends who are from Taiwan. Plus my sister likes watching Taiwanese tv series which in my opinion are really crap.
