    I'm upgrading my PC to Intel quad core (Q6600) CPU.

    RWX how does the quad core stack up to the dual core? Have you noticed any improvements with multimedia tasks? The reason I'm getting quad core is because I do a lot of multimedia work and I'm hoping the quad core will encode my audio and video much faster.

    Sorry, u4ria, but since I've never used a dual core processor, I am not able to compare. Based on benchmarks where I have reviewed elsewhere, though, it seems that quadcore does definitely offer a significant boost over the dual core.

    How different is quadcore over say intel core2 extreme. (noobie question)?
