I like Paul McCartney's songs more than John Lennon's. "Yesterday" is my favourite Beatles song and "Let It Be" comes right after.

They were both awesome. I feel that McCartney did better with the big hits, and Lennon's best work was on the album cuts. Some of Lennon's best Beatles work was the stuff that didn't get released as singles, such as "It Won't Be Long" from WITH THE BEATLES, "I'll Be Back" from A HARD DAY'S NIGHT, "Norwegian Wood" from RUBBER SOUL, etc.

The Voice Within is a good one. Other people seem to like Beautiful, but i think the Voice Within is much better.

Ken, I love the Beatles. When listening, not just the music, but also the lyrics have very special meanings.

I came across this song by an old band the Bread, "Everything I Own". The music is great, so is the lyrics. I have have this feeling going through me when I listen to this song(don't know why).

It's a large part of why they're the most popular band of all time.

I came across this song by an old band the Bread, "Everything I Own". The music is great, so is the lyrics. I have have this feeling going through me when I listen to this song(don't know why).

This song is often believed to be a romantic love song like most of Bread's songs, but actually, Bread member and songwriter David Gates wrote this song for his father, who had died recently. A careful examination of the lyrics show that they are as applicable (if not more so) to a parent as to a romance partner.

I find it kind of sad that lyricists are so little known and all people know about are the singers like Celine Dion who although is a very good singer, hasn't written a single thing. Let it be clear that you like Celine because of her voice, the songs and lyrics are not by her. Even in a thread about lyrics, people can't even mention who is the lyricist. Sad it is .
