China's 50 Most Beautiful People 2005

Hey guys! I was browsing the internet today, and I found this. I know its from 2005, but I thought it was just a REALLY crappy list.....so I'm posting it. Feel free to bash it with me

The Beijing News borrows a picture of Maggie Cheung from Cosmo for the cover of today's Entertainment insert, "50 Most Beautiful People in China". Ms. Cheung takes the top spot, with Takeshi Kaneshiro, Little S, Zhang Ziyi, and Liu Ye rounding out the top five in this exercise that is a conscious imitation of People magazine's yearly rundown. Unlike People, this collection namechecks Kant and Hegel for its standard of beauty, allowing the participation of some famous faces not usually associated with physical attractiveness (Liu Xiang, #8, and Jaycee Chan, #42). Apart from those few unexpected inclusions, it's mostly by-the-numbers entertainment industry celebrities, with a token author (Han Han, #21) and Go player (Chang Hao, #35).
Women occupy 32 of the 50 slots, and a majority of those are round-eyed starlets. Li Bingbing (#17) soundly defeats Fan Bingbing (#40), hopefully ending that debate. Brigitte Lin, who has been retired and out of the public eye for a decade, comes in at number 50, just barely beating out Teresa Teng. Also interesting are some of the names left off the list - Karen Mok, who has won awards for style, and Hu Bing, everyone's favorite male model, are nowhere to be found.

Just seeing it makes me mad.....how the heck is Little S prettier than Jiang Qin Qin?????? Or even her older sister Big S????????????????? BTW, anyone have the list for 2007????

Jiang qin qin..u're referring to Shui ling right? i dont even see her name on the list or Alyssia chia or Ady, ruby, liu tao? i dont know even how these polls come about.. some of the biggest stars are not even mention on there ..Fan bing bing is every where..irritating

omgggggg....this list is HORRIBLE!! Little S does not in ANY WAY fit the most beautiful ppl...more like the most annoying and perverted ppl. Also, my fav. actress vicki is at the bottom of the list..even though she's a lot more beautiful and has a better personality than most of those ppl..Also, Brigitte Lin is by far one of the most beautiful actress that I have seen. it's ridiculous to place her at the bottom of the list where Little S should be...(can't help it but be truthful) ughh, this list really doesn't make much sense..but it's kinda amusing. haha$this->handle_bbcode_img_match('http://album.sina.com.cn/pic/4976408d020006r6')
Brigitte Lin has a lot of amazing charisma about her and qi zhi. Not only is she beautiful, she's also a great actress and has great personality.

Xu Jing Lei should not be on any list that goes by looks! (except the ugly side)

they are the two i disagree with most. They are rated way to high.

On the male side... Liu Xiang? WHAT? i love him and all, but ... attractive? i don't know.

I disagree with a lot of the names on this list, but especially Jaycee Chan. C'mon...Jaycee Chan?!?! Being Jackie Chan's son doesn't make you beautiful. In fact...nm. A picture is worth 1000 words.

As famous as Jackie Chan is, no one is the right mind would classify him as beautiful, lets alone his son. Is Jackie's son famous in China? I have never heard anything about him before.

Man I didn't even know Jackie Chan had a son. He needs much bigger eyes to be even considered for something like this. Photoshop can only help so much.

Pretty much what Crazy said - with 1.3b+ people, I'm always surprised by how ridiculously horrid looking people make it onto lists such as this one.

Okay I wouldn't say Charlene is prettier than Gillian, but she is defenitely NOT ugly. Who ever came up with the list is probably blind.
