Default Across the Universe - A Beatles Musical

Did anyone see Across the Universe? Its a Beatle's musical. There's only about 30minutes of dialgoue in it. Also its on limited release so selected theaters only.
I had a chance to watch it, it was okay. Out of 10, 10 being the highest I give it a 5.6

The story is about the anti-war movement in America during the Vietnam period. It starts of fairly plain but later on the movie gets surreal. Lots of imagery for you stoner fans.
The cover version of the Beatle's songs weren't too bad, some were good and some were just horrible.

Several movies have been made over the years around Beatles songs. A few years back, there was VANILLA SKY, which I believe Paul McCartney even contributed a new song to.

But what really hasn't been done is a big budget, A-list biopic on the Beatles themselves at the height of Beatlemania in the 1960s. In recent years, such films have been made about Johnny Cash and Ray Charles and have been very successful (box office hits and Oscar winners too). Why has no such film been made about this great musical icon of the 20th Century?

i think because it would be exceedingly difficult. it took years for the johnny cash movie to be made. and people always argue about whether an actor is the right choice to portray someone. in the beatles case, 4 actors would have to be chosen that people would have to approve of. also, a great script would have to be written, or else people (*looks at ken*) will get incredibly upset. also, half the members of the beatles are still alive. it's much easier to get approval for a biopic from someone who's already dead. they have no choice in the matter.
