Default Would a book compiling all the knowledge of the Greats > the 9 Yum Jen Ging?

Amazingly, there have been no new posts here at the Wuxia Fiction Forum in the past two days. Other than times when SPCNET in general was down, I don't think that's ever happened in SPCNET history. What is the world coming to? Are we finally growing weary with wuxia?

Anyway, to break the ice: the 9 Yum Jen Ging was the most coveted martial art of the L/ROCH era. Each of the Greats believed that mastering this manual's martial arts would put him head and shoulders above his rivals, and even Central Divinity Wong Chung Yeung, the greatest of the Greats, acknowledged that the 9 Yum Jen Ging was superior to his or any of the other Greats' native martial arts.

That being said, if all five original LOCH Greats were to pool their knowledge into one single book, would that book's overall martial arts value surpass that of the 9 Yum Jen Ging? If you were a young martial artist and you were given a choice between possessing a book that featured all of the Greats' native skills or just the 9 Yum Jen Ging, which would you pick?

Not only does 9 Ying have extremely advanced inner techniques far surpassing anything the Greats have, it also contains a vast wealth of medicinal knowledge. Not to mention, the 9 Ying MAs enabled GJ to rise to power.

ot: i keep thinking sarakoth is ken cheng...

think of it this way, would HYS necessarily benefit from H7G's training, etc?

9 yin's skills were comparable to the greats (GJ still stuck to XL18Z)
it was the internal & theories that excelled.

It might surpass 9 Yin _IF_ the 5 Greats sat down with each other for 5 years in seclusion and worked together to synergise their knowledge.

If it was just all 5 individual skill-sets thrown into one Compendium without any refinement it might well cause fire-deviation.

Yeah, was wondering why it was so quiet and was tempted to start a Godzilla VS Ultraman poll.

the greats individual knowledge equalled about 70% of 9yin knowledge. the greats own skills had overlapping theories, their special and unique skills made up about 30% of their overall skills. 9yinzhenjing contained the theories of all the martial arts schools and ways to overcome them, the five greats knowldge combined should be greater then what is in 9yin by a bit. but the special technique written in sanskrit was unique and unknown to the greats.

It depends on the intellectual capacity of the 5 Greats. If, by thinking together, they were somehow able to synergize and go beyond their own theories, then they might be able to produce something greater than 9-Yin.

Even WCY benefited from 9-Yin just by glancing at it, I really don't see how just by putting the Greats together and creating a new book would really be better.

I mean, isn't the 9-Yin a collection of various powerful techniques already?
