Default How do you choose between left & right audio/speaker on Vista?

I've got a problem. I bought a new laptop and it runs Windows Vista Home Premium. Unlike XP and previous Microsoft Operating Systems, with Vista I can't just bring up the mixer and choose left and right audio by just dragging it left and right. It won't let me drag left and right, unlike XP and prior OS, but just up and down.

I need to play dual audio files and I need to choose either left and right in order not to play both languages at the same time and just one language at a time.

Can anyone help me with this problem?

right click the speaker icon and choose "Playback Devices"
    double click the device(speaker)
now on the window that opens, go to "Levels" tab "Balance" button

but ummm...why don't you just use the balance on your player? Winamp has speaker balance button.

Due to several complaints, I will stop using the terms "Babe" and "Baby" in reference to our female counterpart. They will now be replaced with "B*tch."

Thanks a lot! That helped. The reason why I didn't use the one on the media player is because I was using Real Player. It's a real player file and I don't think there's a audio balance on Real Player (or maybe I just couldn't find it).
