LOL Pandamao, I think you're my food-loving twin!
Buffet: I've tried Tokyo One before and after the change in ownership but I still don't like it that much. For sushi buffet, I find Kirin and Todai quite good and reasonably priced.
Happy Hour: I haven't been to Kona Grill since I heard it was horrible but I find Miyako to be quite good. I just don't like the parking situation with the one on Westheimer.
Dim Sum: Fung Kitchen is pretty good except it gets too crowded on the weekend. I just went to Kim Son this morning for dim sum
Have you tried Golden Palace? It's pretty good also. I've just discovered this place next to Juice Box called HK Dim Sum and it's quite good. The chef who used to work at KS decided to open his own place so it's the same quality except cheaper!
Milk Tea: I used to go to HK4 for it but now my loyalty lies with Boba Zone. You have got to try their milk tea! They also have artichoke, which is a bit too sweet but still pretty good.
Chinese Cuisine: I've tried Fufu but I didn't quite like it. Maybe because I didn't know what to order? I found the food too greasy.
Banh Mi: I think the place you referred to is Thim Hing, which is also one of my favorites. I like their chicken sandwich. Have you tried Nguyen Ngo? It's in the same shopping center as Lee's but at the opposite corner. They only have cold cut meats but it's still pretty good. Instead of butter, they use this awesome homemade mayonnaise that everyone loves. And I heard their pate' is pretty good (I don't eat it)
Hang out: Tried House of Bowls but didn't like it but my friends kept saying it's good so I'm going to revisit soon. Any dish you recommend?
Sushi: I like Hokkaido and Jun for their prices. For fancy events, I prefer Ra, Tokyohana or Uptown. Ra has a very good squid salads Tokyohana has good fillet mignon and their catepillar roll is tasty; Uptown has this awesome peach iced tea and their rolls are also delicious.
Hot Pot: I used to go to Tan Tan for this but now I like KS since they offer a wide selection of seafood and it's a buffet. I love Shabu Shabu but can never finish. Will try hot pot next time at Fufu though.
How about Korean food? I've been to a couple of places down in Long Point but can't remember their names. Have you tried Tofu Village? It's good and inexpensive. My friends and I tried Tyme Table on Westheimer, it was bad and way overpriced!
Now if you'll excuse me, I gotta go wipe the drool off my keyboard
