Default Were Siu Chiu's martial arts better than anybody knew?

Of the four girls who became embroiled with Cheung Mo Gei in HSDS, Siu Chiu is not the one whom most would think of as being the best martial artist among them. Most would consider that to be Chow Chi Yerk after she cribbed some of the 9 Yum White Bone Claws, although Chow was never as powerful as she initially seemed after beginning to use the 9 Yum claws.

But what about Siu Chiu? She seemed to have great intuitive knowledge of the Ming Cult's martial arts (most likely because she had been trained by her mother, Purple-Clothed Dragon King Dor Yee See/Granny Golden Flower). Could she have been the best martial artist among Cheung Mo Gei's paramours? We never did see Siu Chiu involved in any fights in HSDS, but she seemed to be a "hidden dragoness."

She never seem all that into learning though. Did not have the drive of ZZR, ZM or spider girl. She learnt because her mum made her.

Talent wise she seemed ok, but nobody really praised her unlike say ZZR was a standard out. Her mother always seemed disappointed at her progress.

Didn't we have a scene of where YBH learning a swordplay taught by her father YS and she had a hard time learning and understanding it, while Siu Chiu was a quick learner? She only needed to see it once and was able to quickly understand how it should be done.

I guess if she really wanted to learn, she'd be quite good.

That's what I was thinking. Moreover, she seemed to have an intuitive grasp of Ming Cult martial arts, including the Keen Kwun Dai Loi Yee.

yang xian was teaching buhai the five element changes, when he noticed that siu chiu looked to the next point before he mentioned it, and he tested her by reciting the next portion wrongly, and she frowned her eyes and revealed she understood this advanced theory. her grasp of the five elements was enough to lead the five element troops to repeal the mongolian army when ZWJ went to get the antidote for the poisoned ming guardians. she was younger then the rest by two years and may not have had better martial arts.

Would Wang Yu Yan be similar to Siu Chiu then? WYY probably grasps martial arts better than anyone else. Would that be saying WYY would have been a powerhouse too if she wanted to be.

Actually, WYY, is she really good at understanding martial arts, or is she only good at what she reads. For example, would WYY be able to see the mistakes and flaws in 18 Dragon Palms by seeing Qiao Feng perform it? Or must she read the manual and analyze it in order to know the flaws and weaknesses of a particular martial arts?

There's a key difference between Siu Chiu and Wong Yu Yin, however: Siu Chiu actually demonstrated that she could execute the moves...quite effectively, in fact (even Yeung Siu was impressed). Wong Yu Yin could recite principles *only*.

I believe she can annlize as she sees because of the 18 palms. I doubt there is a book on it (well until GJ and that's debatable) so there is no way she can have read about it, however she did need a great foundation to understand how the 18 palms work. The person who created the 18 palms needed something to start with and chances are WYYs read it.
