    Jules, Welcome to this forum.

Bonniec1, Ya, my local free-to-air TV station loves editing shows. They are now showing around Year 2004 episodes of SNTGD and the duration of each episode is only 1 hour, including commercials! The cable channel shows the full 2-hour show but it has just aired the last episode of Cao Ji Xing Xing Xing so there are hardly any 56 shows left. Btw, if you follow Cao Ji Xing Xing Xing, you would know the kuso team Hei Bai Tan. If so, do you know that Bai Tan had already passed away?

Ok, onto lighter stuff. I was re-watching Xi Ha Pi Tou 4 and I must recommend this segment to you, i.e. if you have not seen it before. In this segment, Xiezhi is the class monitor and the other 3 hosts, Renfu, Toro and Yan Xingshu are students who did daring stunts to impress Gigi Leung, an exchange student from HK.

It started with Xiezhi teaching Gigi a tongue-twister in Tai Yu: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m036Bug-Mvk
Then the other 3 guys did their stunts (sorry, I was too lazy to find those clips). And here's Gigi making her choice but Xiezhi .... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGhoJ...eature=related

Yay! New visitors. . .welcome, welcome! XD Yeah. . .we are also wandering about asianfanatics. . .a bit crazier there than here. So if you like to quietly worship, this would be the place to stick around. . .if you're not afraid of crazy fangirl moments, visit the af forum also. It's quite fun there sometimes.

exadel, I absolutely love that show. . .save those parts . . .but I can't seem to find the whole show. I especially love the end when xiezhi confesses his true feelings to renfu. haha. . .so funny.

I remembered that Xiezhi said Bai Tan is 19 years old. Actually, Bai Tan committed suicide rather than passed away naturally. I first read of this shocking news from Xiezhi's fanclub. It says that this notice is posted on the Hei Bai Tan blog:
    天啊......

    白炭离开我们了

    没有留下只字片语

    12月5日晚上

    白炭因忧郁症发作

    烧炭结束了自己的生命

    那个在舞台上

    开朗活泼的白炭

    搞笑逗趣的白炭

    就这样离开了大家

    鹭飞好不舍喔...心都碎了

    往者已矣

    希望大家能为他祝祷

    让他一路好走

    Brief translation:
Bai Tan has left us. He did not leave behind any words for us. On the night of 5 Dec 07, due to depresssion he took his own life by burning charcoal. Bai Tan, the guy who was always so cheerful and funny on stage has left us just like that. 鹭飞 (the blog owner) is heartbroken but since he has departed let's pray for him and wish him a pleasant journey.

This is the blog address but the owner has revamped the blog. http://tw.myblog.yahoo.com/blackwhite-dancer/
He stated on his blog, human beings do make mistakes but a correct attitude and mindset is more important. He revamped the blog as he does not wish to see tragedies arising from wrong judgement.

There's also a news article on this: http://showbiz.chinatimes.com/Chinat...600430,00.html.

In brief, the reporter said that Bai Tan committed suicide in early Dec 07, rumoured to be due to depression. Two articles posted on the blog revealed that Bai Tan had conflicts with the SNTGD production team. The production team wanted them to wear G-strings which they refused and Hei Bai Tan subsequently lost the kuso contest.

The reporter said that perhaps the man in the street doesn't quite understand what production teams do to improve their shows' rating so they may not be able to manage their emotions when faced with different expectations.

The SNGTD producer was shocked to hear of Bai Tan's death and did not wish to comment further. He just said that Bai Tan was a talented performer.

Since Hei Bai Tan was signed on by Jstar, the reporter asked Sun Zhong for the reason for his suicide. Sun Zhong did not wish to speculate on the matter. He said that in China, contestants would be given half a month training to prepare them mentally.

Ok, I will try to see if I can find the whole show. Since you enjoyed this clip, I am sure you will find this other Xiezhi-Renfu pairing funny: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NxiOOjo4y08. Renfu is really pretty in here.

56 was featured in a Shanghai magazine and they look real good in those pictures: http://tieba.baidu.com/f?kz=325546174.

Let me know if you need help with the translation. If so, I will probably do it in the next few days.

They were also featured in another China magazine here: http://tieba.baidu.com/f?kz=318705981. I like the picture of Xiezhi being tickled by the other guys.

Here's something to share to all Xiezhi's loyal fans.
I have a friend who has the most enviable job of being a local entertainment magazine reporter. She had the privilege to interview 5566 several times whenever they were featured on the front cover. From her first hand account, Xiezhi really lives up to his nice guy image and her favorite of the four. What a job !!!

Wow Jules, your friend is so lucky to have interviewed them! Xiezhi is so geniunely nice- glad to hear a first hand account. But you can tell too, from the way he conducts himself.

Thanks for the pictures and links, exadel- I like the tickling one too! Looks like Renfu is having a good time torturing Xiezhi.

This is funny old clip of Renfu tickling Xiezhi on SNTGD. The tickling part starts at 8:10. I think Xiezhi is so cute in here:

Guess you would probably have already read all the news about their LNY dinner held yesterday. But in case you haven't, here are some of the reports and pictures:

    http://ent.tom.com/2008-02-20/0021/09850283.html (8 pages)
    http://ent.enorth.com.cn/system/2008...02838103.shtml
    http://www.sooostar.com/5566/content...ticleID=140287 (including a video clip)

Seems that only Anthony of Lala was there. Wonder what happened to the rest of the Lala members. No pictures of Taichi at all, wonder if they are in the army now. Glad to see that James is still in Jstar despite what happened to his brother.

According to this article, Xie Zhi just broke up with his girlfriend of 5 years.
His mom is so vocal about their relationship.

Well, only time can tell whether Xiezhi and DXQ are still together and I think we will only know when XZ finally gets married. Previously, he will loosen up and drop hints on his shows, but he became more tight-lipped after news of his mother's displeasure was splashed all over the papers.

Actually, there were a few recent articles about their relationship.

Started with the apple news report on 31 Jan 07 that according to friends they have already broken up but both XZ and DXQ did not take calls from the reporters. Then Xiezhi denied the rumours in a 3 Feb 08 report. Yesterday's article about their break-up is the old news except that they spoke to DXQ who denied saying anything to friends about their relationship. Also, another news report yesterday that XZ again denied the rumours about the breakup http://www.udn.com/2008/2/20/NEWS/EN.../4225342.shtml.

This topic was also mentioned at yesterday's wangyu http://www.tudou.com/programs/view/BiRYW6HcEx0/. After the change in wangyu's format, they did gossip about XZ and DXQ a few times. Since wangyu is like a Jstar or 56 show, I always wondered if they sought permission from Sun Zhong or XZ before they put up such clips on their show.
