Nice magazine pictures! I am so jealous of their fans in China. Anyhow, I liked Xiezhi before I started liking 5566 and still like him the best. Funny, I started noticing him on Lucky Strike. Then I bought MVP Valentine and I was hooked since.

He is just so different from the other 'idols' out there- so mature, kind, hardworking, unquestionably talented- yet goofy sometimes too but always natural.

Ya, lucky China fans but indirectly we are lucky too because Xiezhi and 56 have active fanclubs in China and these fans are very prompt in sharing their news, photos and clips with us.

Ok, yet another TVBS article by Xiezhi and the topic is about Lucky Strike:

He said that since he started hosting Lucky Strike in Jan 07, he had received numerous feedback from both fans and viewers and he thanked everyone for their support. The discussion forum at the Lucky Strike homepage was rather active and some viewers even felt that he is not suitable to be the host. Whatever it is, he will accept all comments modestly.

It is obvious that the focus of the show is now gearing towards the supernatural. Title of the show has been changed to "Lucky Strike - Unsolved Mysteries" and the telecast time has been pushed back to a later timeslot of 10pm. He said that ratings improved whenever they talked about the supernatural as people are always curious about things that could not be explained. So in response to viewers' taste, the production crew decided to change the theme of the show.

He hoped that everyone will like the new theme. As the show aims to shock which is still ok for adult viewers, he cautioned the kids not to frighten themselves and end up with problems sleeping at night.

He said that as reported in the papers, weird things did occur during recording. He believes that such things do exist but said that there is nothing to be afraid of so long as your conscience is clear. He said that humans can be more scary than "those things" so we should view such unexplained things with respect and not joke about them.

Actually, he is more concerned about the little kids watching this show. He urged the parents to take care of their kids and ensure that they don't watch the show alone. It is better for them to watch the show together so that the parents can instil the right attitude in their kids.

He again thanked everyone for their support. Besides supporting Lucky Strike, he hoped that the viewers will also support SNTGD. He said that he will continue to work hard.

*****
This article was printed in the 5 Jun 07 issue. How ironical as both shows are now cancelled under unhappy circumstances i.e. if the press is to be believed.

Ya... We also have you exadel! you helped us to translate the articles. I didn't have that good english and translation skills to translate them so beautifully and understandable.
I like to watch Kai Yuan Jian Ding Tuan last time. I like all the topics that they had discussed and through those discussions, i had learned alot from it. But too bad. The chanell is being canceled and XZ doesn't host it anymore. How wish he or 5566 will host another programme again. I like to watch them hosting togather. It makes me LOL everytime.

Ideally it would be o wonderful dream come true to see them host a long lasting program like SNTGD but from a production budget point of view, not very feasible. According to some earlier estimates I think Xiezhi & Renfu were paid aound NT$100,000 per episode and initially Shaowei & Mengzhe much lower cos they were considered newbies. But now, both of them have much more experience & fame (esp Shaowei ), so the total cost involved in a show with all four would be quite astronomical. In addition, you must also see who is the one who handles their negotiations ( Sun Zhong ). He must also have his cut of commission

pat/clare, You are welcome. Doing the translation helps me keep in touch with both languages and I also learn more new words in the process. I don't think I am that good but at least I am definitely better than the google translator.

Really miss those times when 56 host so many shows together. Personally, I feel that XZ and RF make a formidable combination and I wish they can team up again. Ya, 56 are now more famous and experienced hence more expensive but I think they still need more exposure to get back to where they were before, so I hope Sun Zhong can be more flexible in his negotiations. Nowadays, it is always Fahrenheit and Lollipop on the cover of almost every issue of Play, Colour and Fans magazines.

Oh well, since they have no new hosting jobs, we can only amuse ourselves by watching them as guests on other people's shows. This show (the one without RF) will be shown this Friday:

Sometimes I half suspect that producers & tv networks steer clear of 56 because of their manager. I don't deny that he's invested a lot into them but he also tends to shoot off his mouth and put them into some awkward spots with other artistes & managements. Some of his criticisms have even backfired ( eg Show Luo ). You can't deny that these days, he enjoys a higher profile than 56

Take a bow, exadel! You really deserve it and we are so lucky to have someone like you translate Xiezhi/5566 articles for us fans. Plus you do it so well (loads better than Google).

Anyhow, I like the hosting combination of Xiezhi and Renfu too- All four of them of course would be the best, but the price would really be astronomical.

And I really agree that Sun Zhong should consider the fact that because they are not getting enough exposure in Taiwan, newer bands like Fahrenheit and Lollipop are always in the spotlight. I have nothing against either band, and actually think Jiro is quite good looking but seriously 5566 sings much, much better and really should be more popular in Taiwan than they are now. Just Xiezhi and Renfu's voices alone are amazing. Plus we have Sam's distinctive manly voice and Jason's rapping ability to make them able to sing such an amazing range of songs.
It's rare for a band to be able to be so versatile. Luckily they are quite popular in China and hope they gain more popularity in Hong Kong.

yeah. . .hard to get hosting jobs with all four of them since nowadays cost of production will be higher than sponsorship.

I totally want to see xiezhi in a musical. Just curious, since I am getting this from the translation, did he specify the type of musical he wants to be in? Something more dramatic or comedy?

No, he just says that he hopes to be in a musical (歌舞剧).

Xiezhi will be in China this Friday to film the outdoor segment of this show 勇往直前. This is the show that 56 appeared in whereby Xiezhi bullied the snake at the end of the show. There was an outdoor segment and this time Xiezhi will be taking up the challenge. Renfu had already participated in the outdoor segment and now it is Xiezhi's turn. Perhaps the other 2 will have their chances later.

56 is supposed to be in Guangzhou on 5 April for an autograph session but it is postponed as this is the Qing Ming week. No new dates yet.

Hmm a musical sounds interesting, but I would like to see him in a movie first- or another wuxia tv series. Anyhow- I didn't catch that tv show that Xiezhi is filming this Friday when they went on it last time. I think it is on youtube.

pat/clare, The show to be telecast this Friday is 快乐星期5 (Happy Friday). It is the one in Harbin where Xiezhi sang some high notes and twirled a very large handkerchief. If it is shown in China tomorrow, then the show should be available on youtube or tudou on Saturday or latest Sunday.

bonniec1, You can watch 勇往直前 on youtube. This show is hilarious because of 56's antics, don't miss it.

There are more pictures of the Harbin 快乐星期5 (Happy Friday) show posted by Shaowei's fan at baidu. Enjoy.

http://tieba.baidu.com/f?z=345570859...%D9%CE%B0&pn=0 (No wonder they love to tease Mengzhe about his blank look. Xiezhi & Shaowei are so expressive compared to Mengzhe)
http://tieba.baidu.com/f?z=345550555...%D9%CE%B0&pn=0 (Xiezhi & Shaowei seem to be enjoying themselves)

My earlier posts on the pictures and clips of this show are at #404, #411 and #421 in case you want to relook at them.

56 is having a meet-the-fans session at Hangzhou on 6 April 2008. Guess they are continuing their promotions in China again.

The girl in post #482, right? She's Joyce Zhao Hong Qiao (趙虹喬) aka Xiao Qiao from 7 Flowers (七朵花).

Sorry, I'm a bit slow too, but is Lucky Strike the same as Full Count?

No, lucky strike is a talk show that xiezhi hosted for awhile. They changed through quite a bit of female hosts while he was hosting and xiaoqiao paired with him in a few episodes.

Full Count is a drama starring chenyi and qiaoqiao. . .with xiaoqiao paired with xiezhi. ^^

I noticed there is an odd popularity with the word qiao in people's names. XD qiaoen, xiaoqiao, qiaoqiao! At first I was so confused with them. And their english names are like joe, joyce, and joanne. . .what's with that?!!

Oh, thanks Cinnamon. I've never watched Tony's talk shows.. only his TV series. I thought Lucky Strike is another name for Full Count coz the series talks about baseball... three balls two strikes and all ^^

I often got mixed up with Xiao Qiao and Qiao En names too, esp since both are in 7Flowers XD

Yeah, I only watched a few episodes of Lucky Strike and thought it was okay. Though I find that these talk shows are more interesting when the hosts have good chemistry. . .and I suppose they changed female hosts alot because of this problem.

SNTGD is another show that he hosted in the past with 56 and it is so much more fun to watch. If you haven't seen him host, I really recommend watching SNTGD cuz it's a totally different side of xiezhi, not like any of his drama roles. Much more fun, relax, and maybe a bit crazy. XD

In the taiwan entertainment circle, there are a few more female artistes that have the word "qiao" in it. Like for example, Sia Yu Qiao and a few more.
I like to watch Full Count. Its a nice show. Infect, the shows that any 56’s members act in it is nice and interesting. And i will follow the emotions of the actors and actresses during the shows.

I haven't watched Full Count either. Do you guys recommend it? I've only watched My MVP Valentine, Mr. Fighting, and the Sword and the Chess of Death. Of these three series, I like Mr. Fighting the best as it nicely shows the emotional journeys of the characters. Ren Fu is pretty cool in this drama, too. I really wanna watch Westside Story. I've actually had the set for a while now but I've been putting it off in favor of watching newer series. Maybe I should give it a try before it collects dust XD
