I love the song too. Does anyone know if this song is specially written for the Sichuan earthquake cause? I looked up tudou and there lots of singers/groups singing this song too.

Since China Children's Day is over, wonder if they will telecast this show at all. If not, let's hope the fans who were there can share what they have recorded with us.

Actually, 3 of their shows that they recorded in China are not shown yet, "Happy100" this Children's Day show, "Hero" the one they recorded immediately for the Sichuan earthquake and a talk show "静距离".

Oh bad news! Chris Ko announced that 56 has withdrawn as ambassadors of TW Olympics Team and hence will not attend tomorrow's press conference. What he wrote was:

He said that the organising committee is not comfortable with this lyrics "welcome to Beijing to he cai" in the Bravo song. Chris Ko said that originally it was because of this song that 56 was invited to be part of this event. Now at the last minute, the committee wants 56 to sing another song. Chris Ko's stance is that the lyrics is about "asking everyone to go to Beijing to cheer for the sportsmen/women" and not "cheering for Beijing." So they decided to withdraw from this event to show their insistence of their viewpoint.

Oh well, this is about China-Taiwan politics so I am not in a position to comment. BUT it is a great honour given to 56 and I am sure they are very happy to have this opportunity to promote their Olympics Team. If the organising committee feels uncomfortable about the song, I am sure there will also be negative comments from the press if they sing "Bravo" at the press conference. Afterall, the TW reporters had sarcastically written that Jstar/56 is fawning China when this Bravo album was first released.

What a wasted opportunity! Why can't Chris Ko just choose another song like "tong yi ge shi jie" rather than withdraw completely? Or is it because RF and SW are both in Singapore and so do not have time to rehearse another song?

Oh that's bad news! I really don't understand why would Chris Ko want to waste this opportunity. I agree that they could just choose another song if the committee thinks the He Cai Beijing song is sensitive.

For this Olympics issue, I feel that the main role of 56 is to help draw attention to their TW athletics. The press conference is not a platform for 56 to promote their Bravo album so why insist on singing He Cai? But then again, there could be political undertones in this incident that non-China and non-Taiwanese like us would never fully understand.

True, exadel, there may be political undertones to the Olympics issues that we as outsiders won't understand, but I still really think that it is a missed opportunity for them. I don't agree with Chris Ko's decision to insist about them singing that particular song.

Why not take advantage of the opportunity? It's not like this kind of chance happens all the time. I just hope it doesn't negatively affect them in any way.

pat/clare - Haha, maybe Mediacorp can only afford to invite 2 persons and not all 4. But I wonder if Mediacorp specifies which 2 they want or Sun Zhong makes that decision. Since XZ is busy filming, obvious choices are RF and SW. Let's face it ... MZ is still not as popular as the other 3 guys to be able to get solo invitations. Btw, only XZ and RF were at last year's Star Awards. Since 56 is well-liked by Mediacorp, let's hope that 56 (all 4 of them) gets invited to the next Star Awards again, which is postponed to Mar 09.

bonniec1 - I am sure Jungiery already has some sort of reputation in TW. I believe there must be a reason why other stars have so many product endorsements & commercials but not Jstar artistes. Upholding their principles is correct but Jungiery should also not be too idealistic in this competitive showbiz environment. They should know that management companies need to maintain good relations with important people including the press, and artistes need exposure sometimes at the expense of their original asking price.

Btw, XZ and the cast of the taiyu show will be appearing on Wed (18 Jun 08) LIVE telecast of WQYL. As the taiyu show & WQYL are both programmes by settv, I don't think that there will be a last-minute change of plan. Let's hope the hosts for Wed edition of WQYL are RF and MZ especially RF as he has great chemisty with XZ.

Re endorsements by J star artistes , one possible reason could be theprice that Sun Zhong is asking. However, I've read something long ago that SZ wants to feature 56 in quality ads and not get over-exposed or even reduce to endorsing female hygiene products like some male celebs do.

Hmmm- but I don't think 5566 is at risk of overexposure at the moment. I agree that they are overlooked sometimes. J-stars could accept some ads for them.

Hmm, now that you mention it Jules, I recall that Xiezhi ever mentioned (I think on KangXi) that SZ only chooses ads that can benefit them. Perhaps those were the days when people come knocking at their door and they can pick and choose. Grrrr, Chris Ko is the one who posted this info on the settv Jstar forum page. Didn't he learn his lesson from the Olympics incident, that is do not make any announcement until everything is confirmed else the fans will be disappointed and vent their anger on him.

Gee- I really want to be optimistic and hope that 5566 will regain some more popularity in Taiwan. No question about their popularity in China though. I'm sure that they will hold a concert there next year. But still, I think that the powers that be at J-Stars should lean with the times and get as much exposure they can for 5566. I am still upset at the Olympics issue. (Sorry if I am ranting).

I didn't look at the newest clip yet. Last time Xiezhi's hair looked as if there was an improvement/ fuller.

Oh yes Jolene. Chen Zhao Rong and Zhang Feng Shu went to record XNDZC but not to worry, Xiezhi with Zhou You Ting will appear on the 23 June episode! There is a preview of next Monday's episode that was shown at the end of today's show.

Noticed that Xiezhi likes to wear white to cooking shows ... he wore white when he went on XNDZC to promote mojian and also wore white to Da Xiao Ai Chi, the cooking show hosted by DaS and XiaoS. Won't his white shirt gets dirty with all that cooking?

Wonder whether we will still see Xiezhi again on next Wednesday's episode of XNDZC? Afterall, the news is posted by Jstar so no reason for them to announce a show that does not feature their own star.
