Oh, I have been very busy at work recently and only managed to catch parts of ZQMTX when I got home. Not much time to post messages here. Actually for ZQMTX, I am not too interested in the romantic scenes. The characters of the 4 young girls are quite bland whereas the roles of MingJie's two mothers are more complex and interesting. I like to see the 3 guys together as it is touching to see the bond they share. I also enjoyed watching the scenes between MingJie and his biological father, who of course still does not know that MingJie is his son yet.

Here are clips of XZ at the 5 Jul promo (picture posted by bonniec1 earlier) where he showed off his muscular arms.

    Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1DOG4eoyiYc
    Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5L6iafhGS-c
    Part 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nIVrEXr_BDg

Btw, this video is recorded by a fan of XZ from his tongxin fanclub.

Hey nice to see that you are back, exadel. We missed you around here.

Just wondering if anyone here got the fudai that J-Stars is selling to help raise funds for the Sichuan earthquake relief.

Though I am still very busy at work I still make it a point to keep up with ZQMTX. Of course I fast-forward quite a number of scenes but I still get the complete story. Must say that Xiezhi's acting is very good in this show. There are a lot of intense and heart-breaking scenes in the latest episodes 19, 20 and 21 so get your tissues ready.

If you are curious about the story, you can watch the preview clips here: http://tieba.baidu.com/f?kz=412199340
Or if you are impatient and just want to watch those scenes with Xiezhi first, you can go to this link: http://tieba.baidu.com/f?kz=424236987

Btw, there was a news article yesterday which says that the ratings for ZQMTX is not as good as expected. Zhang Feng Shu will leave the show after 40 episodes and Xiezhi's character will turn bad and they will later pair Chen Zhaorong with Zhou You Ting as these two are considered the main leads.

Haha, this report caused an uproar in the ZQMTX dicussion forums. Viewers said that the actors should not be blamed for the lower than expected ratings. For those who watch 8pm shows regularly, they said that the storyline is overused: long-lost child resulting in conflicts between parent and child, good people being bullied by baddies, etc. So, the plot is not refreshing enough to attract more viewers. (Since I hardly watch 8pm shows, I find the plot interesting).

I am glad that most people support Xiezhi and they feel that he is unjustly blamed for the poor ratings as he is a better actor than Chen Zhao Rong. In fact there were a number of anti-5566 viewers who even praised Xiezhi's acting. They were surprised that he acted so well and rooted for his character. I think that to win the non-fans over is good reward for his hard work and efforts he put in the show.

Hey- thanks for the news update and clips, exadel. I don't think the ratings are too bad- after all it is at #2 and a stand alone #2 in ratings for the 3rd week, but I think it should pick up after the show in the #1 position is finished.

I don't understand why the press likes to blame Xiezhi, at least I am glad that there are non-5566 fans who are praising his acting in the series.

Just curious why Zhang Feng Shu was written out of the show though.

    Anyways, here is episode 9:

I watched parts of episodes 19 and 20 and I really think Xiezhi's acting is so good in this series! He has always been good in all his roles so far, but I think this is the most emotional role he's taken on.

The media is probably wanting to make Xiezhi the scapegoat and convince producers that he is a jinx to show ratings like the last drama. Good that he has even managed to garner support from the viewers. Really hope the series will bust all ratings record and prove these critics wrong once and for all.

Zhang Feng Shu's manager said that she will leave after 40 episodes as she wants to devote more time to her husband and son.

The main cast of ZQMTX is the same as Tian Xia Di Yi Wei, except for the inclusion of Xiezhi, Zhang Feng Shu and Tang Feng. The ratings of Tian Xia Di Yi Wei was good (not sure what is the ratings, probably around 7 or 8) so they expect the ratings of ZQMTX to be about the same. So though ZQMTX is at #2, its average weekly ratings of about 3.8 is considered not good enough as this show has a stellar cast and an award-winning director.

Oh btw, viewers said that the storyline of ZQMTX is almost the same as Tian Xia Di Yi Wei.

The pairing of Chen Zhaorong and Zhou Youting in Tian Xia Di Yi Wei was well-liked by the viewers. When ZQMTX was first shown, some viewers were not happy that Xiezhi is paired with Zhou Youting. Furthermore, they did not really like his stubborn character at the beginning so some viewers said that Xiezhi's acting is so-so and he looks uncomfortable in those scenes with Zhou Youting.

However, especially after these recent episodes almost all viewers now root for his character. Viewers, including non-fans are so drawn by his acting that they couldn't bear to see his character suffer in the show. They are hoping that this character quickly turn bad so that he can take revenge on all those people who wronged him. And some say they will boycott the show if Zhou Youting is to be paired with Chen Zhaorong.

I notice that most actors/actresses tend to frown to show anger, disbelief, etc. But Xiezhi is able to show all the required expressions without frowning unnecessarily. He is really good in those emotional scenes and I think acting with the good older actors like his 2 fathers really raise his acting skills to a higher level.

Btw, you can see some pictures of ZQMTX here: http://www.wretch.cc/album/album.php...son0225&book=8. These are pictures from episodes 23 and 24. So, don't go to this link if you do not wish to spoil the story.

I was almost in tears during episode 20 and 21. Xiezhi's acting is so convincing and I feel so sorry for his character- especially when he was at the temple and was begging for forgiveness.

Thanks for the info, exadel. I wasn't aware that there was another series with almost the same cast. But I am so happy that non-fans have been won over by Xiezhi's performance and are rooting for his character. I'm sure that will translate to higher ratings.

hotasuki - continue to get your tissues ready because things won't get better for Mingjie yet, at least not this week's episodes.

I also hope that the ratings will improve but the irony is Xiezhi is so convincing as Mingjie that viewers couldn't bear to watch him being bullied and humiliated so they intend to skip these episodes! But I am sure there are a lot of po po ma ma, auntie viewers who will still watch the show so that they can continue scolding the baddies.

Btw, there could be less of Xiezhi in next week's episodes but at least his mother will finally know the truth. Here's the preview: http://tieba.baidu.com/%CB%EF%D0%AD%...f1702e31a87e5c.

I can't wait to see Li Ruo's (acting as his biological father) expression when he knows the truth. Li Ruo is a good actor and I am sure that will be an exciting scene, hopefully they won't drag it too long. I also want to see Liao Jun's (acting as his adopted father) expression when he finally learns that Mingjie is innocent. Chen Zhaorong's character already know the truth of his parentage in episode 23 and I can't wait to see Xiezhi's protrayal when Mingjie knows everything.

Almost all viewers are eagerly waiting for Mingjie to know the truth as they feel that he will turn bad once he knows that it is his biological parents who caused him all these misery. Haha just like Ren QianXin in Mojian, Mingjie in ZQMTX is going to be a very popular villian.

I agree with you, exadel. I think that Mingjie is going to be a popular villian because he is so convincing. But my feeling is that probably he will turn good again in the end.

I hope he wounldn't be one of those typical baddies, in 8pm dramas. There's a lot of potential in the series, as there seems to be a trend recently for leading bad guys. Like Deathnote, Rebellion of Lelouch & Maou to name a few & they are not the weepy kind of villian/heros, will kill to get what they want, but still manage to have a great fan base.

They said the story is like a modern version of tou ming zhuang, so I wonder if Mingjie will cause the death of any of the leads.

Anything can happen in a series that is going to last about 100-200 episodes. Besides with a title like "zheng qing man tian xia" I also think Mingjie will turn good again in the end.

Fortunately most people are now able to differentiate between real and reel so charismatic villians are also well-received. Let's hope the script-writers are able to make Mingjie an interesting villian and one whom people will sympathise with. Oh, the Taiwanese fans who have already seen episode 24 today are beginning to dislike Zhi Hong ....

Btw, you can view the clip of 56 performance at the Olympics concert to cheer their Taiwan athetics: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwSfTK31wJs

Looks like tv ratings for ZQMTX are unchanged for last week. It is still at #2 and at the exact same rating (3.86).

Finally, another ZQMTX behind-the-scenes clip from today's WQYL: http://tw.youtube.com/watch?v=-NPO6b1IhrI.

Not much of Mingjie in this week's episodes but the little bits of him in jail give a hint of his change in character. Haha, majority of viewers (including myself) are starting to dislike the good guys especially Zhi Hong and his biological father. Mingjie will be released from jail from next Monday's episode so hope to see more of him soon.
