Yes, in reality F4 members have already gone solo but they know that the brand name F4 is still marketable. So they will get together as the group F4 whenever there is a great money-making opportunity such as being TW tourism ambassadors (before Fahrenheit took over) and holding concerts in Japan or elsewhere. But I feel that the F4 members do not have that kind of bond that 5566 guys have for each other. Although Xiezhi, Renfu, Shaowei and Mengzhe also have their own individual projects, they still see themselves as members of 5566. So to me, F4 has already disbanded and 5566 is currently the longest surviving male boyband in TW. Btw, Mayday has lasted a long time too but they are considered a rock band and not an idol group.

About ZQMTX, it is obvious that Xiezhi is the main lead in the show until his exit and I still think that there is some politicking in settv that caused his character to disappear. Afterall, Chen ZhaoRong did not deny on Wang Pai CEO that he had a row with Sun Zhong so whatever he was quoted in the papers must be true!

Ok, the happy news so far is the confirmation of Xiezhi's charity baseball match. He will be playing against his godfather's team again and the match is scheduled on 29 Nov 08. J-star team lost last year and I hope that they will have a better showing this time round. Haha, I didn't know that Ah Wen, big baddie Fang's handsome sidekick in ZQMTX is also a member of the J-star team! Well, I will have to re-watch last year's match to be sure.

Btw, last year Xiezhi went on the bingo pool and bowling shows to promote the charity baseball match. Let's hope he and his team-mates can go on some games or talk shows soon to publicise the match.

Yeah- I remember that too. Xiezhi was just amazing in Bingo Pool last year. I'm sure that he will appear on some shows to promote the baseball match, but I also hope that 5566 will make a group appearance soon (and hopefully come up with a new album for next year). I really miss seeing them together. I think the most recent appearance (besides the mini-concert in Vietnam) was their interview in Shanghai in June.

Before 5566 is out, i actually like F4. But when soon 5566 came out, i start to like them. To me, F4 is not like a group to me at all. Not like 5566. Although they did solo stuffs but when comes to promoting their album, they still can let me feel that they are still a band. I remembering that they did said that they can find back their mo qi in a very short time when they get togather. Whereas F4, they cannot let me feel that they are a group. I like an idol group to be like 5566, S.H.E and other J-Star groups to be natural and don't be like act one.

F4 was the reason it took me so long to like 5566 (as I mentioned before, I only became a fan in June 2006). Not because I'm a fan of F4, but because of what I think of them, which wasn't very good. Didn't hate them nor liked them, just tend to role my eyes upwards at the mention of their name. After that, branded all boybands together, so I deliberately avoided the chinese entertainment scene. It also didn't help that I moved to UK in 2003.

Thinking back now, I remember enjoying their programmes (5566), whenever I when back to Singapore for a holiday. I also remember having the impression that they are one of the best singing boybands that I've heard. (There are other bands that sing well too, previously, but I didn't like their voices) Just didn't know who they were. The song I have the most impression of is 'shou hou', though it's because I had a problem with it. Just couldn't get over the fact that the chorus sounded too much like an existing christian hymn. So the problem I had was with the song writer and not them.

But I agree with pat/clare on the groups feeling. F4 feels more like a brand name than a group. I also didn't like the fact that they regrouped not long after it was announced that Zax was going to have a baby, felt too opportunistic to me. (think their manager was also the same as Zax's wife, so she would have ample time to prepare for it), But I blame the manager and not the members of F4. (edit hmm In business sense, I would agree with her actions but it's just an uncomfortable feeling, If you know what I mean))

Though 5566 don't really give you the feeling of normal boy/girl bands in the world. In the other groups you tend to feel that they share some interest in common hence got along, In 5566 the common interest couldn't really be found. In fact they felt less like friends and more like family, because of their diversity.

I think the best boy and girl group which sings the best is 5566 and S.H.E. I like their voices alot. So far this are the 2 groups which i support the longest duration.

Thanks exadel for the info. My bro subscribe the digital machine one. And so far he didn't one to change the plan yet.

Have you seen him in action before? If not, perhaps you may want to watch last year's matches if you haven't seen them yet. But first, here's a clip made by his fanclub on him and his baseball: http://www.tudou.com/programs/view/wE6VFvSgN9s/

And here are the clips of last year's Nov07 charity baseball match against his godfather's team.

    Part 9: http://www.tudou.com/programs/view/z8T13yMb3Z0/

Actually, the match is quite unexciting if you are supporting J-star team. The only interesting parts are the beginning and then near the end when J-star team almost levelled the score. Btw, there is an interview of Xiezhi together with his good buddy, a professional baseball player at about 10mins of Part 3. Haha, surprised that apart from 5566, he does have other close friends .

Here is another charity match that J-star team played against members of a Basketball Team in Aug07. As the basketball players were not that good at baseball, the match was actually more entertaining but somehow the TV station did not screen the full match.

Thanks for the baseball clips, exadel. I like the fan made video of Xiezhi.

Anyways, like hotasuki, I was not interested in boybands and especially didn't think much of F4 because they didn't seem real. I don't dislike them and I even like Vic Zhou's acting, but I just wasn't interested in listening to them as a group.

I started listening to 5566 because of Xiezhi and they are the only boyband that really impresses me with their vocal abilities. Of course mainly due to Xiezhi and Renfu's vocals, but Jason and Sam are really good rappers. It's because of these different strengths that they can sing a huge range of songs. Plus I really like how they are so natural that you can feel really close to them. I really think that they are the best boyband/group out there- hands down.

Yup bbonnic1 i agree with you. I also quite Vic's acting out of all 4 of them. I remembered watching some of his drammas on cable and i qute like his acting. And all i can say is out of the 4 guys, Vic's acting has improved. I also start watching LXHY and i started to like. As MVP came out, i changed my liking of idol group. From F4 to 5566 and all i can say is from year 2002 up to now year 2008, i had never stop liking 5566.

Thanks exadel for the links to the baseball match.

Bonniec, you right, Vic Zhou acting is very good. From F4, I'm only like Vic than other in F4.
I'm already finished watching Mojian. The ending story is very good.

Well, just saw news of ZQMTX that they are currently looking for Mingjie's new galfriend. So he'll be returning soon. But I'm not going to bother downloading the previous episodes till he returns for sure.

Yes, I saw that piece of news too . Well, I did continue downloading and watching ZQMTX although I skipped a lot of scenes. I did suspect that Mingjie could be returning soon as the other characters mentioned Mingjie more frequently in last week's episodes.

Basically, they mentioned Mingjie because they were worried that the situation will be awkward when he returns and found out that his ex-girlfriend and his brother have fallen in love. Surprisingly, Dehui's mother is against the ShiChang/Dehui pairing so after analysing the situation with her daughter, Dehui had left alone for Taipei to sort out matters. There was no news in the papers about her departure so I am not sure if Dehui has temporarily exited the show or if they will still show her story in Taipei.

XiaoFang again mentioned that she will only love Mingjie no matter how long he stays away. Again I thought that is a hint that she will be paired up with Mingjie but today's news said that Mingjie will return with a "new girlfriend". Btw, there is a possibility that XiaoQiao (acted by Jian PeiEn) could be Mingjie's half-sister.

Last week's ratings for ZQMTX dropped from the previous week of 3.31 to 3.23.

Frankly, I am surprised that the ratings dropped because I thought the interaction between NanGe, a new baddie and XiaoQiao is quite interesting and their scenes could help to retain or attract new viewers. And just a summary of the ratings since the show started.

    First week --> 5.28 --> 3.93 --> 3.97 --> 3.86 --> 3.86 --> 4.47 --> 3.96 --> 3.94 --> 3.81 --> 3.93 --> 3.67 (no Mingjie from last 2 episodes) --> 3.27 --> 3.09 --> 3.31 --> 3.31 --> 3.23

I hope Xiezhi does not give himself too much pressure when he returns to the show. He should know that the damage is already done and he should not be the one responsible to rescue the poor ratings.

Thanks for the ratings summary, exadel. I am glad to hear that Mingjie will be returning soon but I also hope that Xiezhi doesn't give himself too much pressure about the ratings. But I am quite sure that they will improve a bit at least in the 1st week that he returns. I just hope that the screenwriters can make the remainder of the series better.

Well for these long Taiwanese series, it is hard to always stay on top all the time. I don't find that possible. Do you guys plan to watch until the end?? I don't know if I would be able to since these series are way too long..... I also hope that XZ does not give himself too much pressure since it is NOT his fault regarding the ratings and all...

Yes Trinie i will continue watching until the end of the show even if XZ is acting in the parts.

For me, i don't like to stop watching a show or start watching a show from nowhere. I like to watch it from the begining. If i start watching a show from the middle and there isn't any of my favourite actors or actress acting in it, i ather don't watch even the storyline is interesting. An example is almost all of the 9 o.clock drammas that is shown in our local TV station.

I am an impatient person and I don't like to waste time watching draggy or meaningless scenes that don't contribute to the development of the story. So to me, the fast-forward button is one of man's greatest inventions I will continue to watch ZQMTX because I still want to know how the story progresses but I will definitely be skipping lots of scenes.

There was a press conference yesterday on the Charity Baseball Match and here's the gist of the news reports. I will only mention the parts related to Xiezhi.

Last year, J-star team lost by 2 points and Xiezhi cheekily said that he is confident of winning this year because his opponents are older by one year so their stamina has worsened. Xiezhi has "robbed" his godfather's team of one of their players Ah Ben. He felt that based on age, Ah Ben should belong to his team. So Xiezhi told his godfather of his intention and then used his personal friendship to persuade Ah Ben over to his team. And Xiezhi's secret weapon is Jiang JianMing, a professional baseball player who will be the pitcher in his team hence increasing his chances of winning this year's match. (Btw, Jiang JianMing is his good friend who was interviewed with him during last year's match).

Haha, Xiezhi has finally updated his J-star baseball blog: http://tw.myblog.yahoo.com/js-photo/

He confirmed the date of the match, explained about the ticket purchasing procedure and listed his team members. Looks like LiYang from Kone is no longer in the team. Wonder if LiYang has left the team or he just can't make it for the 29 Nov08 match. Xiezhi is such a kind and caring person ... he reminded the fans to take care of themselves and make the necessary transport arrangements especially those who are travelling from other parts of TW to the stadium which is not easily accessible. As the match will end late, he urged the younger fans to come with their parents or come in a group.

He will post pictures of yesterday's press conference on his blog once he has them.
