Good news. On 5 Jan 09, 5566 will be recording an episode of 百万大歌星 The Million Star hosted by Harlem Yu. This episode will be shown on Chinese New Year eve.

If you want to watch them early, Shaowei had recorded the same programme to promote his bread shop with Jackie chu. I think it's nice they're still friends, & SW didn't abandon him because of what happened. Commercially as a company, they need to kick him out. But I think if jackie changes his attitude towards work & play, curb himself from the night scene, It might be quite likely 183 club will reform again.

Yeah- I don't want to comment about Xiezhi's mother either- I just feel sorry for him for getting all that pressure from her. Why should she force him to have kids and get married when he isn't ready?

Anyways, I am so glad to hear that Xiezhi will be joining the New Year's Eve countdown special. I'm not sure if it will be shown here, but I am keeping my fingers crossed. I am more thrilled that 5566 is recording for Harlem's new show since that show will be broadcasting here in Toronto starting in January.

Any idea which if Harlem's show will be showing in singapore cable? I'm going back for CNY this year, and my internet in Singapore is super slow for youtube.

CNY is my fav time of the year. It's when 5566 appear most frequently in other programmes. I think it's because they're easy to film, as you get both an idol and a person who can produce effects at once. Valuable during CNY when the TV station are busy stocking up prerecorded programmes before all their staff leave for CNY. (I think the taiwanese have around a week's break)

They would be a favaourite with producers, as the staff will be too busy to be able to think of new ideas for their programme. I mean did you notice that if a game show have 2 segments or more, 5566's recorded version will always be played over 2 episodes, like tian cai chongx3.

I'm also guessing that they definitely will be appearing in the programmes by xu nai ling and zeng guo cheng, as they have for the last 3 years. Might also appear in a few programmes by CTS, I noticed that they have been quite focus on this TV station recently.

Hotasuki, it will b aired in channel 54 in the starhub cable. But i think it will be delayed for a few weeks.
i wonder when will our cable show the episode with SW and Jacky Zhu?

bonniec1 - Welcome back. Hadn't seen you around for some time.

hotasuki & pat/clare - CNY eve happen to be on Sunday so I have a feeling that channel 54 may show the episode with 5566 on that day. Afterall, this is not a TV series so they can show the later episode first. Or maybe you can check out our ttv cable channel 103. In Taiwan, The Million Star is a TTV programme, so I am hoping that our ttv channel will also screen this show on CNY eve. I remembered that though our ttv channel 103 doesn't show SNTGD at all, they did show the SNTGD specials (the one where they all cross-dressed as Blackie girls) during that year's CNY period.

Both said that there is nothing romantic about filming the kissing scene because it was raining. Their shoes were muddy and they were cold & wet and Xiezhi was worried about his hair. The funny part was that Xiezhi's assistant was hovering near him with an umbrella trying to shield his precious hair from the rain. Lian Jingwen said that they had to be in that position for some time for the cameramen to take more shots from different angles. Both felt awkward & they also had to control their laughter.


Oh well, now that they had successfully paired up Mingjie & XiaoFang, I hope that Xiezhi can exit the show since his role is so insignificant now. Perhaps Mingjie can bring XiaoFang to visit his mom in China or his dad in USA and they just come back in the last episode for a grand reunion.

Xiezhi can then spend more time to pre-record CNY shows. As hotasuki said, 5566 are such great entertainers that I am sure many producers would need them to liven up their CNY shows. 5566 used to co-host CNY shows with Jacky Wu, wonder if they will get any hosting jobs this time.

Though ratings have improved (and yesterday's rating was another record high of 5.47), I believe ZQMTX should still end as scheduled. In the news report in my earlier post, Lian Jingwen had to rush off to film the new show after she finished that scene with Xiezhi which means that the new show is progressing well.

Somehow I no longer feel sad that ZQMTX will end soon because I think they are wasting his talent in this show. Hopefully, Jungiery has new projects lined up for him (and 5566).

I think Xiezhi's hair looks fuller for some reason in the promotion shot of them with Bai Bing Bing.

I am glad and happy that they are still friends and they should be. I think if you are true friends, it doesn't matter if a company kicks your friend out. That does not mean that your friendship will end. SW also does not seem like that type at all. I hope that 183 will form again one day...

About DXQ, XZ's mom and XZ... Everything is getting fishy... Who really knows the truth besides them? I wish the best for XZ. IF he does marry DXQ, then I hope she will give his mom a grandson. Hey, maybe his mom will grow to like her?? who knows?? I guess only time can tell what will happen...

there are rumours that 5566 are breaking up and leaving Jungiery after their contract ended. I hope it's not true. IF they're leaving the company I hope they'll still stay together.

Just watched renfu's wedding on WQYL again, and he mentioned thanking people that have helped him in his life, including his manager. So I think unless Sun Zhong talked him into joining another company, he probably won't be in a rush to leave.

I mean I thnik every body's advising them to leave but I doubt the 4 or rather 3 of them would leave unless circumstances forces them to. 3 because mengzhe seems rather uninterested and will just follow the cue of the other 3.

Yap, just saw that piece of news but I doubt it is true. Was watching the countdown just now and Mengzhe's new year wish is for 5566 to visit Taitung more often, that is no hint that 5566 is going to disband.

I agree that they won't leave Jungiery unless circumstances force them to because Xiezhi feels indebted to Sun Zhong for giving him a 2nd shot in showbiz so he is extremely loyal to SZ. Renfu is with SZ the longest and many years back he refused to betray SZ so that proves his loyalty to SZ. Compared to the other 3, Shaowei had the most projects and probably earned the most money for the past years so no reason for him to feel dissatisfied with the company. As for Mengzhe, well if he wants to remain in showbiz then he can't leave 5566 because he can't survive without them.

Btw, my first thought was finally there is news about 5566 because the recent news were all about the individual members and not 5566 as a group. Though this is not pleasant news but no news is bad news especially in showbiz it is better to have bad news than no news at all. At least it shows they still have value and reporters are still willing to write about the group.

Oh, another thought was perhaps Jungiery is going bankrupt and SZ is going to close the company. But their 2 money-spinning stars Mingdao and QiaoEn are filming shows/advertisements non-stop so this theory may not be possible.

As what exadel said. SZ did gave the 4 members fame and second chance to become stars. So i think they won't leave jungiery. I think the news is just a rumuss only. Just like what exadel said. "no news is bad news especially in showbiz it is better to have

I remembered that 56 always said that their relationship with SZ is more like friends than manager and artiste.

I suppose they could be manged by another company while still staying with jungiery, like cyndi wang and jackie chu's situation, down side is comission is drawn off their pay twice.

Now to think a bout it, I hope this is just a form of advertisement, after all, renfu did say that they will have new projects soon.

Also, I did hear some really bad comments about their performance in the new year concert, which make me worry for them as a group. and these are fans that are complaining, not anti 5566 people. Individually, they've got great reviews but as a group...... I can only hope this is what renfu said 1 year ago about needing a gloom (bad setting) before the climax.

Managed to catch their New Year concert performance online. I must say I was disappointed that they still had to rely on lip synching for some parts even though the songs were seasoned numbers. Granted that weather conditions were not favorable but considering their 'Heavenly Band' tag, I had expected some improvement in the vocal aspect ( SW even sang some wrong lines for the 1st song ) This is coming from me, a fan who has been supporting them since 56 came on the scene. I have always supported their concerts in S'pore from the debut concert. I'm getting a bit tired of making excuses for their reliance on lip synching with each subsequent show and really hope to see significant change in this area. I would definitely appreciate more live singing than slick dance moves. It's no wonder that ther are seldom invited to the ' shi li pai ' concerts with the likes of Lee Hom and a Mei. XZ n RF undoubtedly have to goods but it would take time, blood and sweat to really hone their craft to make them credible singers.
