The funny thing is there is no news report or announcement from Jungiery that Xiezhi is filming a new series ... so I am keeping my fingers crossed. From his dressing in the photo & his co-star, baidu fans guess that it is another 8pm show. But Xiezhi is not casted in the next settv 8pm show that is taking over from ZQMTX and he also cannot act for the rival TV stations.

So not sure if he is filming for a new series or just a special guest in one of those long-running taiyu shows. Really wonder why isn't there any news about this as I am sure Xiezhi is still a news-worthy artiste.

Anyway, those bloggers who manage to take pictures with Xiezhi always praise him for being polite, friendly and without airs. I really think that his appearance in BWDGX and ZQMTX make more people notice him and realise that he is not an "idol". So I am glad that he no longer acts in idol dramas only.

Yeah- that photo is still a mystery- though I am really hoping to see him act again soon. The shirt he is wearing does look like it would be for another 8 pm series. Yes- people are always complimenting him on his manners and how nice he is to fans. It would be so nice to meet him someday.

Anyways, it's good that more people are realizing that he is not just an idol- though I wouldn't mind if he did act in another idol series.

I don't mind him act in another idol dramma too!!! as long as he is acting again. I really miss those days when he act in idol drammas and as well as in ZQMTX. I love seeing him act in different rolls.

Yeah!!! XZ is very good and nice to his fans. I've seen him in person for 5 times when 56 came for autograph sessions. He always ask me to becareful when i walk down the steps of the stage and so on. And he even ask my friend who brought me there to take good care of me!!!.

Wow pat/clare- you are so lucky to have met Xiezhi in person so many times! Wish it was that easy for me to meet him too. It would have been nice to have attended their autograph sessions last year. If they do come out with 5A, I have to save up and fly to Taiwan to attend one.

Yes- from what I read in another forum, the news about the show will be announced on the 27th. Sounds like it may be a tv movie or something. The name of the show is 柿子紅了 (Persimmons are red?).

Well, that isn't any news about the show on 27th!!

Anyway, Xiezhi has updated his baseball blog saying that he has just completed filming a 90 mins non-mainsteam TV movie. The show is about a father-son relationship and persimmons. Great that Xiezhi himself makes the announcement so that fans no longer need to speculate about this project and worse, worry if all this information is true.

Glad that Xiezhi is taking on more diverse projects so that he can reach out to a wider audience. More importantly, he is also in demand from directors of "non-idol type of projects" which proves that he is now a 实力派. Personally, I am pleased that he is no longer regarded as an "idol" because idols are known for great packaging with no talent. Xiezhi is good at everything he sets out to do so he should get the recognition he deserves.

Well put, exadel. My thoughts exactly . I am really glad that Xiezhi is taking on different and challenging roles which can showcase his talent. Good of him to update his blog too since everyone is wondering about the new project. I guess we'll find out more about it soon enough.

I'm just hoping that one of his next projects will be 5566's 5th album. I think the SETTV forum has a thread where fans are asking about when it will be released. Personally, I think it would be good for them to do title songs for tv series, like they did for Ying Ye 3+1, in between albums so that they can still be active as a band. I'm glad that they were on the CNY Bai Wan Da Ge Xing and that it was really well received. Sometimes I believe that the public needs to be reminded that besides being entertaining, they are an excellent band.

I am not too optimistic about the 5th album, in fact I am not even thinking about it. Nowadays, albums don't sell well and probably Sun Zhong and Warner are both cautious since their previous album did not sell as well as expected.

Albums by boybands are usually bought by their own fans only and (sorry to other 56 fans out there), I still hope that Xiezhi will cut a solo album preferably a CD of taiyu songs + sentimental oldies which non-fans may also buy. This is one reason why I am glad he is taking on more diverse projects and dissociate himself from the idol tag so that he can last longer in this industry.

Now that he has finished filming his TV movie, I hope he can find time to appear on BWDGX again.

Btw (credits to someone at baidu who saw this message), a camera-man from his TV movie crew said that Xiezhi saved his camera from being burnt. They had to create smoke for a scene and his camera almost got burnt so he wants to thank Xiezhi Ge for rescuing their expensive equipment.

Xiezhi is considered a A-lister in TW showbiz yet he has no airs. Imagine a leading man helping to move equipment from being destroyed by fire. The camera is the huge type used for filming, not those small portable ones which we buy for personal use.

Yeah Xiezhi really is one of those rare a-listers in the entertainment industry that is genuine and does not have any airs. I feel really lucky to have stumbled on discovering him and 5566 since 2007. I only wish that I knew about them sooner. TV here in Toronto is really TVB biased. Only in the last 2 years have more people started to watch Taiwanese shows and have more choice of tv channels.

Anyways, while I am still hoping that they will release a 5th album, I do agree that it is a tough industry nowdays. I also hope that Jungiery will allow Xiezhi to release a solo album of Taiwanese/oldies too since his voice is especially suited to singing in Taiwanese/classic songs. He has such a beautiful voice and is so expressive.

Can't wait to watch his tv movie- it sounds very interesting.

Yes exadel, i agree with you. I prefer XZ to have a solow album too!!! No matter what kind of songs he sings its so (i can't think of any nice words to say).

Sometimes, news report is less trustworthy than bloggers' posts especially when the cast of a show is still unconfirmed. And Xiezhi acting as Penny Lin's son? Either her character dies young or she is his step-mother.

If the news is true, then I am glad that Xiezhi is finally becoming an "ordinary" artiste rather than an idol. As an idol, there will be publicity whenever he takes on a new show which means that he gives himself lots of pressure about the shows' ratings. And reporters will make snide remarks when his shows do not do well. As an "ordinary" artiste with a lower profile, he can just enjoy his acting and let others worry about the other stuff.

Yup- the news is about the same series we were talking about, the one in which Xiezhi supposedly will be acting as Penny Lin's son is a China series. Anyways, hope more info is released soon about this series and about his tv movie.

Saw that Xiezhi updated his blog on the 10th about the typhoon. It hit southern Taiwan really badly- he must be emotionally affected by it since he grew up there...

Thanks for the clips. Thankfully, the 2nd show was shown live over our cable, ZhongTian (cti) channel last night. So I was able to see 5566, minus Mengzhe on my big screen. Though they only appeared for a short while, it is still nice to see them on TV again.

Btw, what other fundraising shows will they appearing be on?
