Hmm- don't see any news about the other shows yet, but I had that impression when I read Xiezhi's blog on the 13th about 5566 appearing in the SETTV show...

Xiezhi updated his blog again on the 16th and wrote a long and thoughtful reflection about the typhoon. I was really touched and liked his thoughts so here is a rough translation thanks to MDGB translator (and some editing):

My heartfelt thanks to all the help of friends at home and abroad! It doesn't matter if you only donated $100, the thought itself is precious! I think that all of people affected by the disaster will be able to feel your caring thoughts. I really feel sorry that the disaster came so suddenly- there was no way to prepare for it . No one can predict such an act of nature. But it has already been brought upon us. What can we do? Jet Li put it very well: This is not a time for blame when we have to brave! There may not be a home, but what is important is that you are safe. If people are safe, we can all survive this together. The past few days, watching the news, I thought of the time several years ago when I was filming and went to a disaster stricken area. I asked myself what can I do for these victims? In the end...it is like I can't really help with anything... Can only help in the distance, silently praying, or asking for donations. We as humans are so insignificant in the face of natural disaster!

In life there will be many setbacks and unexpected circumstances... There are problems with work, relationships, family, unforeseen natural disasters... and so on! We must think of ways of overcoming them one by one! This is where the value of life is! One must go through difficulties of life in order to live properly. By helping others can one experience contentment and understand the importance of life! So... I will often tell you that no matter what you may face in life, you should face it with an attitude of thankfulness. We should thank obstacles and unexpected disasters in life to make us realize where the problems are and how to improve! Our belief and strength to continue living on will increase. Let everybody learn to criticize less, gossip less, let everyone learn to live more in harmony . Won't this make everything better? By seeing the lives of others fade away, we learn how to cherish our own lives- This is human nature! Hope that from now on all people, including victims of the typhoon will not wallow in sadness but be courageous and face reality and rebuild everything. This is not a time to complain or dispute about small matters, but to be content with your situation and grow from this experience. Please do not let those who died, die for nothing- from this, we can create a better home! Thank you

No problem- you're welcome pat/clare. The MDBG translator is really helpful-it actually tells you the meaning of each character so it was easier to understand and edit.

Anyways, no mention of where Xiezhi's mother is, but I am sure she is ok. I'm looking for that SETTV special too- will post if I find it.

Here's part 1. Basically she didn't really say anything. Just her presence at that topic itself speaks volumns. And she really, literally didn't say anything almost. Which made me wonder why she accepted that job in the first place.

Now, for that same topic, I would have been happier to see Jiqin appear in it.

This is part one, I'm sure you can find the rest, if not, let me know & I'll post the rest up.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edsST...e=channel_page

p/s: Thanks for the welcome, But I wasn't really gone. Just didn't post anything up.

Also nice to know that XZ's investment in the gameshows in China paid off, & he's got a new drama. Wonder what is it about?? If it was a hongkong or singapore drama with that title, I'll guess it's a time transportation story but I can't tell for sure in a china or taiwan story. Either way it sounds like we'll need to prepare lots of tissue to watch the show. I'm Looking forward to see his improvement in acting since that leap in ZQMTX.

You can watch the SETTV charity show here. Actually I did not watch these clips so I hope they are complete:

    Part A: http://www.tudou.com/programs/view/7zcmRi3NVSE/
    Part B: http://www.tudou.com/programs/view/5RZlzCiuhGw/
    Part C: http://www.tudou.com/programs/view/2j3C_dVg5kI/
    Part D: http://www.tudou.com/programs/view/y4kEjK4tD-Q/
    Part E: http://www.tudou.com/programs/view/3WO9bm4bK_A/

There is this part where XZ was examining his telephone set and I think the cameraman must be amused by him because they switched their focus from the hosts to XZ at that point.

His mother is fine and she is still staying in Kaohsiung. She had been lying low (after creating so much negative publicity for her son) and had been immersed in some religious or spiritual studies. She is now involved in the efforts to help the typhoon victims.

Yes, DXQ really did not say anything at all and I think the producers must have regretted inviting her to the show. Btw, I thought the part where Song Da Ming's wife spoke about how they went to the wrong wedding dinner was so funny.

As for me, I rather not see Jiqin on this kind of show either. Personally, I do not like celebrity couples to talk too much about their private lifes on TV or in print media. By so doing, they appear to have no talent at all so they have to make use of each other to gain publicity or fame.

One example is Chen Ziqiang and his wife Fu TianYing. I have a soft spot for Chen Ziqiang because he is Xiezhi's cousin but it is so annoying to see this couple going to so many talk shows to talk about their happy married life. And the recent news about her attempted suicide and how they made up after that look so fake and dramatic and makes people wonder if it is yet another publicity stint by an attention-seeking couple.

I am feeling a little gossipy now ... just read the news that Chen QiaoEn had broken up with her Aussie boyfriend two months back and is now rumoured to be dating Roy Qiu Ze. Well, Qiu Ze used to be one of those pretty boy idols but he looks more manly now after his army stint. So, good luck to her.

Thanks for the links! Yeah I did watch GKBBM out of curiousity and the other two guests spoke more than DXQ. Still, I didn't quite like the subject of the show.

I don't like celebrity couples talking too much about their private lives either- especially if it seems like it is a publicity stunt.

Anyways, thanks for the link to the SETTV show, I couldn't find it on Baidu. (Baidu and Tudou seem to be running really slowly this week for me). I heard about the part where Xiezhi is trying to fix the phone - sounds cute.

Hope we hear more news about the new show soon!

Xiezhi updated his blog again - today at about 6.21 pm. This time, he urges everyone to help save the environment and not to use disposable chopsticks.

Good that Xiezhi is now treating his baseball blog as his personal blog to share his thoughts and not just to publicise his baseball activities only. Hope he uses his blog more often to keep his fans updated about his new projects. Oh, I am still hoping that he goes on BWDGX again.

Thanks exadel. I do hope that it is the complete one but so far i watch the first part, it seems like very short to me. I will watch the rest soon.

    Thanks.

Wow- I am surprised, but very happy that Xiezhi has been updating his blog more frequently. I like how he tries to send encouraging/educational messages to his fans. Hope that he continues to update us. Yeah- I hope he goes on BWDGX again and gets to the last round.

Well- thanks pat/clare- I will try- Translating/understanding articles is a lot easier using the MDGB online translator. I am thankful that a kind hearted person at another forum gave me the link to it. Now I can write more messages to Xiezhi! (just kidding)

I got this off the SET forum. Not XZ unfortunately, but RF's singing for a charity event at a pub. I've got to say it's one of his best performances ever. He's in really good form that day. Makes me really hyped up for 5A. Usually, he's too busy thinking of jokes etc to have a proper performance. Shows you that 5566 are really talented people if they seriously want to do it. 1 thing though, RF really needs review his expressions when he sings, it's a bit....

Thanks for the links, hotasuki- I thought Renfu's performance was really great too.

Xiezhi and Renfu have such nice voices- (sigh) I really miss 5566 performing together. They are such a great band and great entertainers.
