Here's the news report of their arrival in our local Chinese papers. There should be more news about 56 in tomorrow's papers as they are having a press and autograph session today.




So, the crowd at the airport was better than expected. The reporters said that about 250 fans from Singapore, China and Malaysia turn-up to meet 56 thus disputing the rumours that 56 popularity is on the decline.

I am so glad that there were so many fans to meet 5566 at the airport! I'm sure that it will really boost their morale.

Though YesAsia did not state if this is the China or Taiwan or Singapore/Malaysia version, but the pre-order gifts should refer to a 40-page passport (not sure if it is the same as what the China fans got earlier this year), a desk calendar and a diary (hopefully it is not a blank diary but a diary recording what 56 had done in the past years).

This interview is quite fun because 56 is very relaxed and chit-chat like old friends with the DJ. As the interview was conducted at 11pm, after the autograph session, 56 said that they had to talk continuously and act high in order to keep awake.

Thanks also for offering to translate the interview. I'm pretty fluent in listening and speaking Mandarin, it's just that I can't read that much Chinese. I must admit that my Mandarin has improved considerably since I started liking Xiezhi (and 5566). I used to be hooked on TVB dramas for the longest time.

But just comparing Xiezhi's two pictures from the article, I do think he looks more shuai with longer hair, even though of course he is still cute with short hair.

OMG, I have not been here in such a long time due to school and all. THanks for all of the news and articles you guys! Thanks for posting the English article too. I can read Chinese and all, but get lazy to read let alone translate... I didn't know that Sam and Tony even considered living in Singapore. I know that homes in Singapore are expensive, but isn't it expensive in Taiwan too??I thought they never once considered living anywhere else? Boy, I wonder if they ever considered living in California(USA)?? But then again the housing prices here are really expensive too...Thanks for all of the links too. Oh yea, don't know if I am dreaming too much, but wouldn't it be great and perfect if 5566 performed their song "Tong YI Ge Shi Jian/One World" for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing?? That would be PERFECT since I heard the theme for the 2008 Olympics is something like "One World, One Dream". It would also be an honour for them. Also, it would be a good chance for them to promote themselves and boost their popularity too.
Oh yea, my friend just gave me a charm of the Olympic Mascots. Xie Zhi and I seem to have the same taste since my friend told me to pick the one that I like and I chose HuanHuan(the red one). Glad to know that Xie Zhi likes one of the same ones that I do.

The 4th album is now available for pre-order since I just placed my order like 2 days ago. I wonder if the songs from Mo Jian are on there?? Hm... I ordered the pre-order version and the other version to give to my buddy since I want to introduce her to 5566.I wonder if they will have other versions later?? I don't think that is a good idea, but lets see. I really hope that 5566 will still grow in their popularity. Did you see Full Count yet?? I am watching it on youtube right now. It seems interesting. I actually like Xie Zhi with short hair since he looks younger, but he looks great with long hair too.
OH yea, the other day I was telling my cousin about 5566 and she said that she has never heard of them. BUT she has heard of F4... I was like WHAT???

I've noticed that there are lots of talk about their popularity going down. . .but seriously considering that they haven't came out with a new album for 2 years, it shouldn't be surprising. These press people probably had nothing else to write about. X_x Anyway, I've never heard of 56 before this year. . .and I noticed that they do have new fans. . .we're just elsewhere in the world and we can't be there for their autograph session. *sigh*

Anyway, of course their popularity has waned a bit, considering that they haven't released an album in 2 years, but I think it is to be expected. But I think they have gathered a lot of new fans, particularly in China, from what I can see on Baidu, etc. I'm a new fan myself.

No, I haven't seen Full Count yet, but am planning to get the DVDs soon- too bad the ratings are pretty bad. But from what I read in the Asian Fanatics forum, it's probably due to the storyline.

I am glad to be back too. School almost killed me though... Glad that you are trying to introduce your friends to 5566. I am trying as well... Regarding their popularity, well everything and everyone goes up and down. However, I think the most important thing is longevity, which is can they last? I don't think you can always be on the top all the time.
I agree that they have lost a number of fans, but have gained a lot as well. I have to admit that I am new fan myself. But the good thing about me is that I am very faithful. I was never into groups and only like 183 CLub(they are the first group that I ever liked) and now 5566, that's it... It is rare for me to like any group so that shows how special 183 and 5566 are.
I only saw parts of Full Count so far and actually like it. I just hope that the overall story isn't too bad or else the hopes for the ratings to go up will not come true. I plan to get the DVDs when it is completely out too. I think the storyline is ok so far and isn't too bad.. Not sure about later though.

I think that 56 is doing very well despite being relatively quiet for the past 2 years. I was worried that not many fans will to for their autograph sessions in this region as there is hardly any news about them here. But, it was reported that more than a thousand fans went to their autograph session in Malaysia yesterday.

I think the clips are not complete but just to share them with you first. Btw, I really feel for Xiezhi after listening to Part 3 on what Shaowei said about him. I really really wish that Xiezhi achieves success with his 4th album and realises his dreams of having their concerts in China and elsewhere this year. Hope he will soon feel comfortable enough to get married and start working on his happy family soon. Afterall, he had said many times that he don't wish to marry late.

Funny how everyone is introducing 56 to new people. XD I got it down to my friends saying, "I have no idea what they're saying but I like their songs." It's a good jump for me. My goal is to gather enough fans for them in the states so they may visit here one day.

I got to watch a few episodes of Full Count as well. I thought xiezhi's character is very interesting. Especially love the part where he was talking to the cardboard cutout. His character seemed so serious, just didn't expect him to do something like that. . .and I like how he keeps sneaking up randomly behind people. XD Does anyone know if he actually ends up with xiaoqiao in the series. I heard from someone that his character in the book ended up alone. T_T

Hey, you actually say that to your friends?? I really love the meaning to their songs... Which songs do you like the most?? I am glad that you can still enjoy it even if you don't understand.I am trying to introduce my friends to them. I am waiting to see if she will like them or not. Fingers crossed! That is a good idea! Lots of singers come to my area for concerts, so I hope 5566 will come one day. Alexander Wang is coming here next week!!! Huang Xiao Ming came this past Thanksgiving already as well. It will be to their advantage if they can here.
I like Xie Zhi's character overall, but don't like how mean he can be to Chen Yi's character. He is an interesting character and I hope that Joyce will be touched by his love for her. I hope that he will end up with XiaoQiao. Which part was it when he was talking to the cardboard?? I don't remember that part... I am still shocked about how low the ratings are for the series Full Count though.

Ah, no. I meant that my friends say that. Most of my friends are caucasion and don't understand mandarin. So when I play the songs or send it to them. . .that's the reaction I get. XD I generally look up the meanings or tranlations of songs if there are parts I don't understand. ^^ I'm trying to learn mandarin afterall. . .it would be silly of me to just listen and not try to learn from it.

I think the cardboard scene was in episode two. Right before he gave her flowers. . .I've only gotten that far. Have been busy lately. ^^
