Yes, his performance at yesterday's BWDGX was so impressive. I was watching this video almost non-stop the whole of this morning, especially his rendition of Jam Hsiao, Jay Chou and the Huang Mei Diao songs.

I am sure he will win over more people with this performance. In the earlier BWGDX, viewers were surprised that he can sing so well. Now, Xiezhi shows that he can sing different types of songs ... taiyu songs, sentimental songs, raps, rock ballads and even Huang Mei Diao (which he managed to sing along by just listening to the music).

The ratings of the recent episodes of BWDGX weren't so good. Hope that there is an improvement in the ratings of yesterday's episode so that Xiezhi will be invited back again.

Btw, I am glad that Yurong went on BWDGX to promote a show that he acted in. At least, he does have on-going projects though there is no news about him or announcements on the official Jstar website.

Yeah- I think a lot of people were surprised to find out that Xiezhi can sing so many different types of songs and so well too. I mean I was completely blown away by the Jam Hsiao song since I associate Xiezhi's voice with more classic, love songs or taiyu songs and not rock ballads. But wow- amazing.

I was just wondering, yesterday RF said that he has a friend who sold his car because he is need of money or something and RF said that he lend his own car to the person to drive. It lets me think that the person RF was saying is XZ.

I only watched the episode with Sun Pang and Di Ying. Sorry but personally, I think the show is only so-so and only the second half of the show is funny.

Anyways, looks like Xiezhi updated his blog again on the 28th to let everyone know that his part was finished for Mo Nu 18 Hao on that day and that he would be trying out new and different types of performances in the future. As well, the charity baseball match would be postponed until next March.

I think it's good news that he is trying different things- like a different style of singing for the Jam Hsiao song. Can't wait to see him act in another role. I thought he did a really good job in Mo Nu 18 Hao, even though the script was mediocre. I felt that he was able to portray the character well and make an impression on the audience even though he had very little screen time.

Haha, I have given up on WQYL now that they are just summarising and showing clips of old news. I went to check out the episode you mentioned but I don't think RF is referring to XZ. If so, the reporters will have a field day taking photos of XZ driving RF's car and writing about the downfall of an idol. Personally, I don't think XZ will let himself be in such a situation because he is an insecure person. He had been poor before, right after his army stint so he will make sure that he has savings to fall back on. Think he said something like this on one of those very old Kaiyun shows when 5566 started out.

In general, ratings for BWDGX had dropped to less than 3 or just over 3 in the past weeks. BWDGX used to be the no. 1 or 2 weekend variety shows but its ranking had fallen to 3rd or even 4th spot recently. Viewers attributed the drop in ratings to the heavily edited shows and presence of Nono. Most viewers prefer to hear proper singing so are not happy that some songs are completely cut-out from the show. As for Nono, I agree with them that he is rather annoying. I know that his role is to liven up the show but I don't find his jokes funny and it gets irritating when he tries to steal the limelight from the guests.

Glad that XZ now uses his baseball blog to keep fans updated about his works since news reports are not totally reliable. You will notice that XZ is a very careful person and he only make announcements about confirmed projects and not those that are still being negotiated so we do not get any false hopes.

Frankly, I have no interest in the MN18 drama so I have only caught glimpses of XZ in this show. I like the cute, confident and arrogant Japanese chef but too bad this is only a bit part so they can't develop this character further. Wish XZ has the opportunity to take on more of such interesting roles.

Btw, Mingdao and QiaoEn are co-hosts of this year's TW Golden Bell Awards. Wonder if 5566 will be invited to host any of the segments of this show.

Thanks for the information, exadel. I agree that Nono's presence on BWDGX is irritating and I do not find him funny either. He seems to be getting more screen time than he used to.

Yes- I did notice that Xiezhi only comments about confirmed projects in his blog, but am really glad that he is using it more often to keep fans updated. I hope that the tv movie that Xiezhi filmed a while back will be aired soon.

Actually, I think that it is a pity the storyline of ZQMTX got messed up and XZ had to leave the show mid-way. Otherwise, I think XZ deserves to get a Best Actor Award for his role in this show.

I had to keep re-reading the post again to make sure I got the date right. Ok, today's news article confirms that Mingdao & QiaoEn will not be co-hosting the awards ceremony and 5566 will also not perform in the show in support of QiaoEn because Sun Zhong is not happy that the organisers said QiaoEn lost the hosting job to Bai XingHui. As usual, the news article may not be 100% accurate. But if it is true, then why should Sun Zhong sacrifice 5566 for QiaoEn!!! They may be from the same company, but why deprive 5566 of a performance opportunity at an event watched by many people in Asia? If it is not true, then I hope the actual reason for 5566 not being able to perform is because XZ has filming or other assignments.

Yes- I agree with you, exadel. I really think that Xiezhi deserves at least a nomination for Best Actor for his role in ZQMTX. He acted so well in that show and I think that he should have been officially recognized for his work. I mainly watched the dramatic episodes between 19-51 or so and I am slowly re-watching his parts from the beginning. He really did a great job.

It is disappointing that 5566 won't be appearing in this year's Golden Bell awards, but I am glad that Xiezhi will be making another appearance soon.

I still haven't gotten used to his very short hair, prefer that he keeps his hair longer. I think he is one of those rare young popular artistes who is not very concerned about how he looks on screen. Frankly, I can't think of any other idols or actors/singers who does not bother to put on makeup or style their hair when appearing in front of the camera.

Is it just me or does XZ look a bit different? He looks older. Some of the photos actually reminds me of Andy Lau, not looks but feeling.

Anyway, thought todays episode of RF programme seems more interesting so posting the links here. They made some minor changes. And the non-star couple seems more like real viewers than previously.

The guest couple used to be actor and are now into politics. Some how, I can just imagine XZ going down this route in future. But it really depends who his final partner is, though it's seriously non of my business.

Thanks for the links and info, exadel. Yeah- I'm not sure if I like Xiezhi's haircut either. It seems too flat and short. The haircut he got for the Bravo promotion was short, but not as flat. However, I don't think that his face looks older at all, it's his hair that doesn't seem to match. He still looks like a little boy at times. I prefer his hair longer also, since it is more flattering. Also, is it me or does his hair seem to be thinner in the last couple of months? He really should try to continue his treatments when he has time.

Personally, I really like the fact that he (and 5566) are natural, but sometimes on the other hand, I think that it adds points with the general audience if at least his hair is a bit more styled before he appears on camera. Especially since there are people that are superficial and go for looks only. I mean he is extremely talented as well as handsome, why not make the most of it? He deserves even more recognition and popularity.

pat/clare: the first episode of Xiezhi's Kai Yuen was on Jan 1/07. ( I remember since that was the first time I had ever heard of him or seen him on screen. This is when ETTV was showing the show over here in Toronto).
