    erm

After reading about the bad publicity over the golden bell awards after it ended, I'm sort of glad 5566 weren't involved otherwise they would have been dragged through the mud along with the producers.

Anyway about 1+1, if it means they'll(5566) be appearing more often in other programmes, then can I cheer first!!

Yeah- I agree with you about this years Golden Bell Awards- too much controversy.

Anyways, I think that was a good summary of what we may expect from the 5566 members, exadel. I agree that 5566 will probably be used to promote 1+1 and that they will probably continue with Jungiery. But I do hope that it means that they will get to release an EP as well. Perhaps the upcoming concert is a step in that direction.

About Liaozhai 3, I was a little surprised at Kong Wah being chosen as the female lead in that story too, but I think she is quite a good actress though she does look older than Xiezhi. There quite a few Hong Kong actors in the show, Raymond Lam and Fiona Sit are the other names I've seen so far. I hope that they release pictures of Xiezhi soon. Can't wait to see his costume!

Finally saw 2 exclusive photos of Xiezhi in his Liaozhai3 costume and he looks good! If you are a Tongxin 同心 fanclub member, then go check out the photos. He has neat long hair and decent traditonal costume, thankfully nothing exaggerated or flamboyant. Luckily, his overall look is somewhat similar to Frankie Lam and not Li Wei's.

Filming for his Liaozhai3 story has ended so I hope they can release the official photos soon. Also, timing is quite good since 5566 should have enough time together to rehearse for the concerts in China.

Thanks for the news, exadel. Gee- I'm not a Tongxin member yet so I guess I'll have to wait or join up.

Xiezhi is really suited for ancient costume so I guess he must look good. I can't wait to see him as a scholar. Hmmm-I don't think anyone has started a thread on 'Liaozhai 3' yet.

    You are welcome, bonniec.

Based on the pictures, I am also looking forward to the show. I like the 2nd picture which is beautifully taken and suits the Liaozhai atmosphere. Somehow, they look compatible and from that angle, she doesn't look older than him. Btw, the Tongxin fan said that he has a scholar costume and a court official costume as well.

Based on the pictures of the other Liaozhai actors/actresses, seems that the production team is generous with their money because they have nice-looking clothes and sets. I think each story will last about 10 episodes or less but seems that the main characters have many costume changes and at least the clothes do not look filmsy or cheap. Actually, I am quite particular about costumes and hairstyles for period dramas.

My favourite is still wuxia dramas so I hope Xiezhi has the opportunity to act as a highly-skilled swordsman soon. Hope he gets more drama offers from China because China produces lots of sword-fighting shows.

I agree with you, exadel. I love wuxia series too and really hope that Xiezhi will act in another one. He is really good in action scenes and has a cool wuxia look suitable for a swordsman role.

I seldom watch wuxia drammas. But i do hope he can act more in this type of drammas!!! Cause he is damn shuai cool etc in those outfits.

I remembered the last wuxia dramma i watch is his mojian.

Is there any official news about his part in the Liaozhai dramma???

Xiezhi updated his blog about 2 days back expressing his thanks to everyone involved in the Liaozhai3 production. He said that the show will air sometime mid-2010. There are news reports on this show in today's papers. I think this is a press release by Jungiery because they only showed his and WeiRu's pictures. This show has only 5 episodes but looks like he has quite a few costume changes for such a short show.

Here are the 3 news reports: http://udn.com/NEWS/ENTERTAINMENT/ENT7/5227606.shtml, http://www.libertytimes.com.tw/2009/...oday-show8.htm and
http://tw.nextmedia.com/applenews/ar...sueID/20091102. Basically, it spoke about how he was in great pain when getting ready for a scene whereby he had to lie in a coffin & kiss the HK female lead. They sent him to hospital and discovered that he had a small kidney stone which was removed immediately. Mingdao, who was also filming there visited him and scolded him for not drinking enough water.

So nice of Mingdao to visit him. Wonder if Mingdao looks good in a period drama because he has a puffy and tanned face. The other day, I was thinking whether the other 5566 guys should also act in period dramas. I think Renfu should be ok because somehow pretty guys look good in costume. But they have to be careful about his hairstyle so that his face does not look too big. Unlike Xiezhi who has a small face so he looks alright in most hairstyles. Based on what I had seen so far, Shaowei looks dull in costume so I think he should stick to contemporary dramas. Mengzhe should also avoid period dramas because he will look very big with those layers of costumes.

Actually, WeiRu should also move onto period dramas. Small petite girls tend to look younger than their age so WeiRu cannot stand out in modern dramas. In period dramas, their hairpiece can help them look taller and they can have heavier or more dramatic makeup to make them look more mature.

Thanks for the update, exadel. Xiezhi's features are very suitable for ancient costume and he looks scholarly and refined in this role- a very different look from his role in Mo Jian. Wei Ru is quite cute in her costume too.

I think it is sort of spooky that he did get suddenly ill while filming, but he really should drink more water. It was nice of Mingdao to visit him. By the way, this is off-topic, but here are pictures of Mingdao in costume for his new series:

    http://asianfanatics.net/forum/index...owtopic=693121

I think he doesn't look that different in ancient costume, unlike Xiezhi who is much more versatile in the way he can look.

Bonniec, thanks for the link. You are right, Mingdao doesn't look different in ancient costume and he looks better than I expected. I thought he may not look good because he has a puffy face ... and that reminds me that Shaowei should start losing weight as his face has also become rounded

Xiezhi does have an interesting look. When I first noticed him, I feel that he looks shuai and is the most manly guy in 5566. But recently, I think he looks sweet or pretty when he smiles whereas previously, I feel that the only pretty guy in 5566 is Renfu.

Btw, there is a news report on QiaoEn's contract and the reporter also mentioned the other Jstar artistes: http://showbiz.chinatimes.com/2009Ct...200013,00.html

It says that 5566, 183club and QiaoEn's contracts will expire in a month's time and they have yet to renew it. QiaoEn's fans are encouraging her to move onto another company and the reporter was also speculating that she may leave since she is now very much sought after. The reporter said that Xiezhi, Renfu and Mingdao will most likely renew their contract with Jungiery because of their fond feelings for the company after so many years there.

Haha, I thought that the reporters had lost interest in their contracts. Well, let's see what happens by end of this year.

Great, so his costume-fitting session this afternoon is for the new drama 不存在的儿子. Looks like Penny Lin is no longer in this show since she is not in the clip or mentioned in the news report. I also remembered reading a recent piece of news that she has just started filming for a new 8pm show. At that time, I was wondering if this show will be delayed or not take off at all.

Glad everything is ok and Xiezhi seems to be busy with projects. Guess he and SunZhong must have seriously mapped out his future and they are now moving towards that direction.

Anyway, here are the news report and clip (credits to baidu): http://tieba.baidu.com/f?kz=663440655 and http://video.udn.com/video/Item/Item...34-21-21-3D-3D. Hope his hair will be longer during the concerts in China. Oh, funny thing is this is a China show but majority of the cast is from TW and the costume-fitting session is held in TW.

Thanks again for the update, exadel. I am so glad that Xiezhi is filming another series. I was beginning to wonder if 不存在的儿子 was going to be filmed. It's odd that this series is labelled as a China series instead of a China/Taiwan collaberation.

Yeah- I also think that Xiezhi is sweet/pretty when he smiles- the rest of the time he has a manly look because of his strong features. About their contracts, I am inclined to think that 5566 and Ming Dao will probably continue but I am not sure about Qiao En.

Just some pictures from the TVBS website on the costume-fitting session.

I think his short hair doesn't look that bad if he bothers to style it a bit but I still prefer him with longer hair. I really like his frank nature, like he said that he is now past the age to be acting in idol dramas. At least he doesn't try to avoid talking about his age or hang on to the idol tag, though he still look young for his age, especially the last picture.

Well, this silver tie looks familiar, think he wore it in the final rounds of the magic show.

yes recently read that Farenhait might break up, because of contract as well so thought that the media have shifted their attention already. As for qiaoen, though her fans have been telling her to leave, I think she shouldn't leave for the sake of leaving. If she's going to leave for some other taiwanese base company, she shouldn't waste her time. she should only consider companies with international links that might help her into the movie industry. Otherwise it's better to stick with people that know your bad habits if any.

And XZ's Health. As I had previously mentioned already someone needs to tell him to stop eating instant noodles & frozen dumplings.

Hopefully, after this contract thing ends, they might be able to work on a new album. Afterall, they still have at least 1 album left on their contract wit warner.

    Thanks for all the updates.
Glad to hear that XZ has more projects!!! Which means we can see him more often!!! I love him acting in many different kinds of roles. Hope to see more in future!!!

Hotasuki, i totally agree with you about QE.

Hopefully they will come out with 5A soon!!! Since their contract with Warner is ending real soon.

XZ actually impress alot of non-5566 fans when they watched BWDGX etc. For example, one of my colleague actually commanded that XZ is one of the best artiste that she had seen no matter he is acting in drammas or in BWDGX. She did said that he is the best singer who can sing in BWDGX and his acting is excellent!!! No other artiste that can be like him. And i strongly agree with her!!!

Seriously, i don't wish 5566 to break off even when there is a day to come in future. They are the best group i come across. No other groups will take over their place in the entertainment history.

Found this really nice picture from a news report about Liaozhai 3:

    http://ent.cqnews.net/ys/ds/hyds/200...03_3738196.htm

I think this series looks really promising. From this scene, it looks like the art director paid attention to creating a mysterious and beautiful atmosphere.

Yup- Xiezhi looks so handsome in his suit at the photoshoot for the other new series. I glanced briefly at a few of the news reports from today and it seems that they are starting to speculate about the J-Star artists' contracts. Hopefully we will find out soon.

About Xiezhi's health- he really should start paying more attention, but at least according to his latest blog post, he has finally realized that he should drink more water. He must have received enough blog responses nagging him about it.

Yeah- I am happy about his new projects, but really would like to see him (and 5566) sing again as well.

read from the asianfanatic forum, that Xi Jie might be made into an animation. If it goes through, I hope they get XZ to voice it. Hopefully, Sun zhong might be able to convince them to let 56 sing a new opening theme for it!

    Thanks for all the news.

Hotasuki, i thought they are planning to have such muvie already?? I remembered when they were filming XJSM, they did said that they wanted to do something.

I heard in another forum that recently XZ has fallen sick or something and he is filming a new series in Taiwan. Yeah!!! A NEW SERIES!!!

Oh, is there anyone knows whether is there any videos for his TV movie shown a few days ago???
