My Chinese reading skills are not the greatest, but basically Xiezhi repeated that he wants to concentrate on acting and doesn't consider himself an idol anymore. When asked when he might get married, he said that he wanted to get married in his 20s, so the age gap between his children and himself would not be great, but now has a lot of other things to think about and joking said maybe he may get married in 10 years.

He said that he is finished shooting Liaozhai and will be shooting a new series next month. As well, he said that although 5566 has not disbanded, they are busy concentrating on different areas right now. When asked if he would film any more idol dramas, he said probably not, as he is now past the age for shooting these dramas and also his fans have also grown up, which is part of life and what he is working on now is different from what he has done in the past.

Xiezhi said that his goal is to complete a defining piece of work- something that can withstand the test of time. He said that he is not threatened by new idol groups, since that is the nature of the business and if by chance 5566 comes out with a new album next year, the whole concept would be totally different, but the most important thing was that they should do what they need to do. He also commented that there are fewer performing opportunities in Taiwan as compared to Mainland China.

Btw, there will be 3 episodes in total, one with both xiezhi & renfu and each of them will appear in another episode. They will pit their cooking skills against our local artistes. Xiezhi will be up against Qi Yuwu and Renfu against (maybe) Chen Xiuli.

Basically, I think it says that 5566 will work separately, but will not disband, even though Shaowei and Mengzhe will probably not renew their contracts. Xiezhi will be concentrating on acting, Renfu on hosting while Shaowei will concentrate on his business and Mengzhe will fulfill military service. Even though they may not be in the same management company, they will still appear together.

Well- I really hope that 5566 does stay together- the news article doesn't quite make sense. But who knows? They are one of those rare bands that have such great chemistry and truly have the best vocals- it would be a shame to see them split up.

Basically the reports are speculations about the status of 5566 and Xiezhi's relationship status.

Hope this episode of Kangxi will be shown soon as I can't wait to hear what they actually said on the show.

Though the purpose of them going on Kangxi is the promote the magic group 1+1, the reporters are only focusing on xiezhi. They don't even bother to write about the new group at all. But it also proves that xiezhi still attracts attention in TW showbiz.

And Mengzhe is so insignificant. Though the headline is about 5566 contract, only one newspaper mentioned that Mengzhe has renewed his contract with Jungiery. Oh well, only Shaowei left to decide if 5566 will still be intact.

Yes- I found that pretty ironic too- that the reporters focused their attention on Xiezhi and 5566 rather than 1+1. But it is a good thing since I agree that it proves that the Taiwanese media is still very interested in Xiezhi.

I really want to see that episode too- probably it will air soon? About 5566- I really hope that Shaowei continues to sign since the rest of them have already signed. It is a little odd that only one news report mentioned that Mengzhe signed while the other ones totally ignored this news.

Thanks for the english version of the article, pat/clare. Well- about 5566's status, I don't think we will find out for sure until later this month.

I took a quick look at Xiezhi's blog update and it is his basically his update about the fund raising baseball game that took place last weekend on Dec 6/09. He says that it was like a dream match with all the big name players involved such as Wang Jian Ming etc. since it may not be possible to invite all these players, even if you paid a lot of money, but they were all there to show their care.

He also mentioned that he sang two songs (紅紅青春敲啊敲),(白色花漾) before the start of the game and that the player he asked to join him in singing the first song (紅紅青春敲啊敲) wasn't familiar with the song and was a little embarrassed, so he wanted to say sorry to him.

For the next song (白色花漾), because the sound system at the stadium was slower and louder than the sound in his earpiece, it was hard to keep the beat for the song so he relied on his past experience to keep the beat.

Now I'm really confused. According to the latest news 5566 is not disbanding. But SW will not be under contract. Think it means that he will still be working with the group though not under the obligations of a contract. According to Sun Zhong, none of his stars are going to join a different company. Even if they don't sign a contract they will still be working together.

What confused me is the last bit about Qiaoen. Sounds like she's staying. Maybe the 'company' she set up was only for tax reasons. Remember hearing that taiwan stars open personal companies in taiwan so that they can pay less tax.

Well, things are getting even more confusing now. Earlier reports had stated that Xiezhi, Renfu, Mengzhe & Mingdao had renewed their contracts with Jungiery. Though Shaowei is not renewing his contract as he wants to concentrate on his bread business, he will still remain in showbiz and he will not sign on with anyone else. The part about QiaoEn is contradictory so unsure about her status.

However, today's report states that Renfu did not renew his contract with Jungiery: http://udn.com/NEWS/ENTERTAINMENT/ENT2/5311089.shtml. He is going solo and setting up his own management company but still maintains good relationship with Sun Zhong.

Haha, wonder what other news will we see for the rest of this year since their contracts are supposed to expire this month.
