Default Reno, NV - Lake Tahoe

No more NYC for me and Dallas is still up in the air but that doesn't mean I can't plan another trip! The destination this time is Lake Tahoe in December [and January] for skiing.

Never been there and heard it's very pretty. If anyone has been there and would like to recommend a restaurant or club, please do so.

I was in Lake Tahoe very briefly, for about 3 hours total, just driving through it. Shame that we couldn't have stayed longer. I remember reading about the lake being divided into North and South regions, and one part, either North or South, is much more popular for skiing. The Heavenly Gondola is a cable car that lifts you up really high for a nice view. I managed to snap a shot of the sign:

Unfortunately, that's about all the legacy I have from my short drive-through, heh.

I have been to Reno, NV more than 20 times, but Lake Tahoe only twice. Tahoe only has a few casinos while Reno has around 20. I go to gamble or watch concerts; i'm not into to skiing/snowboarding or sightseeiing.

Be careful driving around the mountain. It can be dangerous especially if the weather is bad, snowing.

Heavenly ski resort is the largest and probably the best resort in the area. Try not fall of the cliff.

And I'm off to another vacation. I'll be skiing at the Heavenly Ski Resort. My friend was able to find lift tickets for cheap for yay for her! I'll come back with more pictures of snows for everyone to see!

How did your friend score cheap lift tickets? I'm planning a trip out to Tahoe also.

She bought 6 coupons that we can redeem for tickets. It's only valid Monday-Friday though... which is perfect for us because we're skiing on Thursday and Friday. Search on ebay and craiglist for Heavenly Lift Tickets. Regular price for lift tickets are $75 and we got the coupons for $25 each. That's a mighty savings.
