Default Did Sing Kwun know Shaolin martial arts even before he became a Shaolin monk?

Sing Kwun did not become the Shaolin monk Yeun Jen until after he had murdered his student Tse Tsun's family, but by that time, he had already taught Tse Tsun the Lion's Roar Technique...a Shaolin martial art.

Was Sing Kwun a Shaolin martial arts practitioner even before he became a monk? If so, does that mean that all of Tse Tsun's early kung fu was Shaolin kung fu?

I don't believe Xie Xun's skill was specifically identified as the Lion's Roar, nor that it was identified where he had learned it from.
Blademaster. Hero. General. He was the best there ever was.
Butcher. Murderer. Traitor. All that he loved, he had destroyed.
    Matheius Randas.

I think Lion's Roar is a generic martial arts name. Elder Kurong from Dali also knew it.
