Default Question about ripping CD tracks to PC via Windows Media Player

I'm currently ripping my favorite Beatles songs off their CDs onto my PC using Windows Media Player, and I'm having an annoying problem.

In every track, there are momentary skips and dropouts during the last 10 seconds or so of the song. Why is this happening? How can I stop it?

    Any help will be appreciated.

You should consider using a software called FreeRip, its easy to use and fast.

Also make sure you're not multitasking at the same time you're ripping.
Due to several complaints, I will stop using the terms "Babe" and "Baby" in reference to our female counterpart. They will now be replaced with "B*tch."

Doing it. You think it's a Windows Media Player issue?

I have been, but why would the skip always happen during the last ten seconds of each song? It's never at the beginning or middle, but always in the last ten seconds.

Nope, I simply just never trusted WMP to burn CDs or Rip songs properly.

try another software, could be some sort of protection on the CD. who knows, but instead of trying to figure it out, why not just get a free software and rip it?

Tried Freerip, but same problem on replay. I'm still using Windows Media Player for replay. Maybe that's it?

Can anyone recommend a good downloadable media player?

Yuh it could possibly be a copy protection scheme. Also was thinking it could have been low resource.

I use Winamp to play music. It's free. No need to register with any email or anything. http://www.winamp.com/ (it also rips)

did you try just copying the .dat file from the cd over to ur hdd? or is it copyrited?

if its not just do that then convert it to mp3. if is it then try using total video convertor, it allows you to rip cd's along with other video types.

else i suggest you check your codecs, because any problem i ever have with media is codec related. trying reinstalling the codecs for mediaplayer, else try installing community codec pack.

if u need any of the mention software and codec pm me. i'll send it to you. with crack ofcourse.

it's a setting. i forgot where you find it, but you have it set to fade out, so it cuts off the last 10 seconds. this is so the songs supposedly go seemlessly from one to the other without a pause. i usually set mine to a few seconds delay between songs.

it's not, 2 differerent software, chances of him having the same default setting on 2 seperate software is very unlikely, it's a protection. I'm not to particular on CD ripping, but try other technical forums, i'm almost 99% sure it's a protection, no way 2 software produce the same result.

    GET OUT OF HERE!!!!!!!!
OMG! MY WMP IS DOING THE SAME EXACT THING!!!!!
I thought it was just my CD and was about to return it when I decided to try playing it in the CD player. It worked fine so I tried it on the computer again with another player and there was no skip. It's just WMP, they suck.

I suggest you use Roxio if you want to burn anything. They're very easy to use.

For the best quality result, always use EAC with Lame. Here's a guide:

I use CDBurnerXP Pro. It's freeware and fairly easy to use - two of my favourite things. You can get it here...
