Roman Tam, Adam Cheng, Frances Yip and Jennifer Yen were unmistakeable.
Kenny Rogers, Lionel Richie, Ray Charles, Cyndi Lauper.
To be considered unique, you should be able to tell the singer by listening to just a few lines of the singing of a cover version (ie, not their own song).
Yes for the above. Btw, Jennifer Yen should be Jenny Tseng (Yan Ne / Zhen Ni). Jenny has a powerful, rangy and well-rounded voice but her voice is not as unique compared to say Frances Yip. Adam Cheng's voice is unique but not lovable. Roman Tam, well, is inimitable.
Others:
Tracy Chapman (most unique deep raw voice to me)
Teresa Teng (tender yet soaring)
Fei Yu Ching (the way he carries/caresses the notes is unmistakable)
Tsai Chin (her mellow voice invokes an atmosphere unlike any other singing today)
Paula Tsui (the tone is unmistakable)
Willie Nelson (very unique ruggard voice - see We Are the World)
Luther Vandross (tone, tone, tone)
Aaron Neville (that vibrato is unmistakable)
Sam Hui (pure voice with little vibrato)
Jay Chou (high-pitched dreamy voice)
Emil Chau (high-toned expressive voice)
Dave Wang Chieh (Wong Kit) (a voice with raw emotions)
George Lam (unique singing style and tone)
Michael Jackson (unmistakable timbre in the voice)
Stevie Wonder (incredible breathing technique)
Cyndi Lauper (very unique high voice - remember the high part in We Are the World)
Cher (punchy voice)
Celine Dion (silky wide-ranged voice)
Mariah Carey (high-pitched powerful voice)
Annie Lennox (solid raw voice)
Norah Jones (smooth voice)
Bruce Springsteen (high rough voice)
Rod Stewart (high-pitched voice)
Phil Collins (smooth high voice)
James Blunt (high-pitched raw voice)
Damian Rice (raw emotional voice)
Louis Armstrong (rich reverberating voice)
Dolly Parton (high-pitched emotional voice)
Elvis Presley (rich rounded voice)
Josh Groban (round soaring voice)
Bryan Adams (high-toned raw voice)
Some good choices, Jire.
However,
Do you think he sounds like Five For Fighting?James Blunt (high-pitched raw voice)
Annie Lennox [big voice]
Kate Bush [incredible range and unique style]
Mel Tormé [the 'Velvet Fog']
Julie Andrews - pure soprano but with an everyday quality, even when the vibrato is going like mad. Get the Original London Cast recording of My Fair Lady to hear cockney at its ugliest sung with great beauty.
Well I think ultimately many people have *recognizable* voices...recognizable and lovable is another story!
- Jewel (I don't think any voice can match hers in terms of "angelic-ness")
- Andrew McMahon (Jack's Mannequin & Something Corporate)
- Liam Gallagher (Oasis; btw, his pronunciation is so cute! "fookin" and "sawcastic" make my day)
- Jason Wade (Lifehouse)
- Alicia Keys
- Jason Mraz (voice always reminds me of chocolate)
- Adam Levine (Maroon 5)
- Mariah Carey (especially in the 90s, her voice was just divine...I do think her voice has deteriorated)
- Nelly Furtado (very nice speaking voice too)
- Sarah McLachlan (unique richness to her sound)
- Gwen Stefani (No Doubt)

I love sleep. My life has the tendency to fall apart when I'm awake, you know? -Ernest Hemingway
Some of these artists, I wouldn't say lovable sounds, but I can tell it's them.
Amy Winehouse
Brandon Boyd [Incubus]
Britney Spears
Chris Cornell [Sound Garden/Audioslave]
Chris Martin [Coldplay]
Miley Cyrus
Nhu Quynh
Phuong Thanh
Rain/Bi
Reba McEntire
Steven Tyler [Aerosmith]
Less Than Perfect
Nick Cave (unique voice, unique *feeling*)
Alexander Veljanov (singer if Deine Lakaien - his voice has always reminded me of the sea)
Blixa Bargeld (he makes even Hornbach catalogue a thing of his own)
Albert Kuvezin (no throat singer I have heard sounds quite like him)
Ding Wu (though he's not what he used to be)
Amanda Palmer (Dresden Dolls)
Dao Lang
Anna Varney (Sopor Aeternus & the Ensemble of Shadows - that creature is one of a kind in most respects, not just voice)
Leslie Cheung
Dave Gahan
Robert Smith
Lisa Gerrard
...to name a few...
别想把黑暗放在我的面前
太阳已经生长在我心底
不再有封闭的畏惧
奔腾的灵魂飞上天际
太阳 我在这里
Vicki Zhao's vice is quite unique and lovable. No one can sing that cute Princess Pearl song the way Vicki does.
Another singer I find unique is Lowell Lo.

I agree with the one in bold
And I would add:
Avril Lavigne (her voice itself may seem pretty common but her singing, she amplifies power and richness.),
Elvis Presley (definitely, the King of Rock & Roll), the girl in The Cranberries (very unique voice),
Michael Buble (he set a style, and I could recognised it!),
Ewan McGregor (I know he isn't a singer, but I find his voice enchanting - listen to the theme song of Moulin Rouge "Come What May" - McGregor can do opera)
Jamie Cullum (his jazz style is one of a kind)
For those I could think of, for Chinese singers:
Anita Mui - her voice can variate and always able to bring out the feel of the sound. No matter she sings slow or quick tempo songs, her unique voice is unmistakeable. I enjoyed her slow songs very much.
Linda Wong - she's very popular during the 90s, especially with the song 'Don't ask who I am' (literally translated). She has the ability to "tell" the story of her song with the emotion through her voice. It's either I had paid attention to her voice hence, could recognised her voice in whatever song she sings or, she had maintain that identity of her voice.
Andy Hui - He has a very sexy voice that moves hearts; my favourite song of his has to be "Shang Xian Yue".
Daniel Chan - he also has a very unique voice; talking or singing.
What can I say? I'm still standing! No weapon against me shall prosper! I am more than a conqueror!!!
I don't care to sit by the window on an airplane. If I can't control it, why look?
Seeing so many singers listed, I want to ask, which singer's voice is not unique?

Most popular singers have a unique voice. Their unique voice is the reason why they are popular. I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Sir Elton John, whose voice is not only unique but powerful and full of emotion. He's a legend!

Miriam Yeung's voice is not unique because it's similar to Sammi Cheng's voice. Besides being different, a voice should be memorable. One of your favorite singers Aaron Kwok has a unique and memorable voice. However, it doesn't mean he has a good voice.

Actually, voice is is purely subjective. Some people may find some voices unique or loveable but other people may find them rather generic or boring. So it's only a matter of personal preference as it doesn't apply to everyone, whether or not one voice is unique. Just thought of pointing this out.
