    Default Real Life Wudang Master

This is probably not the correct area to post but I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Donnie Yen's mom Bow Sim Mark is real life Boston area Wudang Master.

She is my new idol. Sorry if this is already common knowledge - I just thought it was really cool. I wonder what Zhang Sanfeng thinks of her.

Which, in short, is the running theme of modern day Chinese martial arts.

I know - more display it seems. Not quite as exciting as Zhang Wuji's display of Taichi Sword.

I had previously read that Donnie Yen's martial arts influence was due to a parent but I did not realize until yesterday that it was his mother - pretty good for 60+ years old.

In his more recent films, "SPL" and "Flashpoint", he's been experimenting with MMA heavily also.

As for Chinese martial arts being not practical, that's just redundant at this point.
