Default Real life references to wuxia

Have you ever named a pet after a wuxia character?

Have you ever heard of a band named after a wuxia phenomenon?

Well, we know that once upon a time Ken Cheng attempted to emulate XL18Z.

    EVERYBODY: Please share relevant stories

well, someone showed me this http://dealbook.blogs.nytimes.com/20...rassment-suit/ and said, "reminds you of SPW, doesn't it?"

    YUP.

Re bands: Don't know if this is quote what you're looking for, but --the singer Wang Rong got her first hit with this song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=af1j9...aynext_from=QL And then there's the S.H.E song: http://youtube.com/watch?v=GBlmggTeDa4 Other than that... nobody seems to have done much wuxia related songs (other than themesongs for TV adaptations).

WHOA, I didn't know about Ken... please do tell!

you know, you can't put a teaser like that and not provide details! that's just cruel!

and to respond to your queries: i've never owned a pet, so n/a and no wuxia bands -- oh, i can totally see the Greats forming a barbershop quintet. LOL!

I am pretty sure Ken has shared the story with us before. Either that, he only shared it in the old forum.

The basis of it was Ken was being bullied. So he emulated the XL18Z, the same one as Felix Wong in LOCH82. And the bully just went away. One of a big mystery. I think Ken mentioned the bully was non-Asian, so he would not know what Ken was doing.

Luckily for Ken, the bully did not do anything. Cause if not, that XL18Z thing of Ken, well yeah, it will probably just look as good as Felix Wong's, and yep, have no use whatsoever against the bully.

I think I have it right. Let's wait for Ken Cheng to give the real story.

Yup. Dragon Palm Ken Cheng has shared this story, but we are still waiting for the video of a grown up Ken reliving that event.

Wu Tang Clan, the rap group.
You do know that it is just fiction, dont you?

This by no means a real life reference but I thought this version of XL18 palms looks ..... a bit feminine... like that isn't Guo Jing but Dong Fong Bubai doing it.... i don't know.

    I'm mad at the choreographer.
