    Default MY LAPTOP blacked out

I'm so depressed. Depressed to the point where I don't want to eat or work.

Last night, my BABY aka My LAPTOP blacked out on me in the middle of my recording for the SPCNET IDOL...

What does this mean? IS it my adapter or my charger? I try to plug and unplug my charger and it still wouldn't turn on.

My Toshiba Warranty expired exactly a month and half ago...can someone help me?

You're not the only one. Two days ago my desktop computer also died on me. I have finished recording for the Spcnet Idol and was getting ready to submit my entry, but I couldn't turn on my computer. I was so frustrated. All of my hard work are gone for nothing

The screen only or is it the whole system i.e. are you hearing the start up noises etc?

P/s: I'm depressed too, my DVD disc drive is jammed, and i can't get the CD out of it, and a technician needs to actually come to do it tomorrow. - so no games for a couple of days.

Try using a different charger. That's the simplest possible solution.

in front of the DVD drive, there's a little "hole", right in the front pallet, take a strong pin and jam it in there, actually, take a look in there with a flash light to see where the "gear" is located, jam it right in there and it should pop the tray.

Pop the main HDD out, and plug it another computer as "external", everything should be on there in your original folders.

Your laptop is most likely dead, not the addaptors, if it doesn't boot with a battery it's as good as dead. Cheapest way is to go and buy the same one, heat up the serial in the back and swap them, return the broken one.

LOL, tried it multiple times -nada.

With my laptop, the only way now is to get a technician to fix it according to the Dell XPS support ppl i spoke to.

not sure i really trust dell tech support. -_- once they told me i had to spend $300 bucks to buy another ethernet card from them, and instead, i just asked a friend over and he fixed it in under 10 min.

forgot to add this, I called the Toshiba tech support and they told me I overcharged my laptop and that killed my battery..they even use this comparison .." your laptop is just like your body, if you overworked it, it will died. "...What the heck!!!! DuMASS---Luckily I didnt' listen to them and brought it to an electronics repair place and they solved my problem...

What can they fix that you can't do? i'm pretty sure if you jam it in wrong, it takes a couple tries. BUT if it still doesn't open, just open the whole dam thing up, it's broken anyways, you can't break it any further. Get the disc out, then you can just buy a new drive, probably 30-40 bucks.

Their tech support isn't very good.

That's pretty wierd, even if your addaptor doesn't work, your battery should still work. They probably did something else that they didn't tell you.

yeah, but i think han's computer is new? so it's still under warranty and the technician and replacement parts should be free. if he tried to pry the thing open himself and damages it further, it could void the warranty on it.
