Some powerful roars have been known to knock people unconscious.

I wonder, do roars have to be a generic loud noise? Or can you actually utter random nonsense -or- sing music as the content of the roar?

In my opinion, deathgrunts are the singing equivalent of the roar.

If roars work by resonating with, I don't know, the ear drum's resonant frequency, then probably just generic loud noise. I don't know that much about physics/oscillations so please correct me!

When I wrote this topic, I had in mind a person (say, Xie Xun) performing Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" with a roar (complete with the slow hand and body gestures - mirrored by Celine's music video), and thousands of people die in misery.

The best part is, viewers will not be able to easily tell whether people are dying due to the roar or the actual music.

i was actually thinking more "THIS IS SPARTA!" (with the facial expression) since most roar performers were male
