I'm learning Mandarin and traditional characters, but most wuxia novels seem to be more easily available (online and in the uni library) in simplified characters.
I'm learning Mandarin and traditional characters, but most wuxia novels seem to be more easily available (online and in the uni library) in simplified characters.
I prefer to read them in Simplifed Chinese, but reading them in Traditional Chinese makes no difference to me.
I mainly find that online copies of the novels are in Simplifed Chinese, however, local libraries have the novels in Traditional Chinese mainly. Since reading the book is more convenient that reading it online, I usually read wuxia novels in Traditional Chinese.
Simplified, because I can't read traditional
I prefer to read Traditional Chinese, right to left, top to bottom. I always try to find books in those format if possible. But, I'm ok with Simplified Chinese if that's the only version available.
wording wise, it doesn't matter too much
but the traditional format is usually easier to read. the words tend to be larger and the spacing between each line is wider, whereas the modern format tends to squish too many words in one page.
"Are you man enough to eat tofu?"
Order of Knights of the Holy Tofu
STOP using DHMO! It kills innocent lives!
The same way I read all Chinese - traditional. I find it hard to recognise simplified words after staring at traditional words all these years. Heck, I even struggle when ordering from a simplified Chinese menu.
Traditional Chinese.
I cannot read simplified Chinese well.
