Default Guo Jing's parents VS Lin Pingzhi's parents

    In terms of martial arts:

Guo Xiaotian and his wife Li Ping
    -vs-
    Lin Zhennan and his wife

    Which couple would win?

Lin Zhennan's wife was decent at martial arts too, not to mention, he was a leader of an escort agency. Easily LPZ's parents IMHO.

GXT was just a mere retired Song soldier while his wife had no knowledge of martial arts at all. Lin Pingzhi's parents are both well-known martial artists so no comparision here.

No where in LOCH did they mention that GXT was a retired Song Soldier. He was the descendant of one of the heroes of The Water Margin (Liang Shan Po). Thus his kungfu is far superior than a mere soldier. Heores of the water margin were all great heroes/bandits that could take on at least 20 soldiers each, so assuming some of the skill was lost through the generations and GXT only received say 75% of what his ancestor could do. He would take on maybe 15 soldiers. This is still quite formidable, and we know this is real kungfu ability as he fought off those soldiers.

Now we look at the parents of Lin Zhiping, Lin family was inheritor of Pi Xie Jian Pu, yet they never learnt it and their kungfu far from their ancestor. As a fashion, Escort or Biao Ju rely more on reputation and numbers than real kungfu skill to protect their
charge. Thus we do not really know how powerful his kungfu really is, until we compare with the fight with Yu Chenghai and his students. In that fight Lin family was slaughtered and didn't even stand a chance against the students. One could argue that they were outnumbered however one must also remember that GXT was also outnumbered, so now it comes to the skill level of the masses. QingCheng Clan were hopeless, their students were beaten up by a Linghu Chong who at the time was not even that great, then considering the Generational depreciation theory, that is as time goes on the kungfu gets weaker. Well Consider that GXT was in Southern Song dynasty and LPZ was in Ming, thats 2 dynasty gap already.

So in Kungfu and purely kungfu GXT could take on LPZ's father or mother in single combat easily. However... due to the fact that its two on one, GXT would face a disadvantage but i feel that he would still hold out for a while. But since both parents are involved GXT's wife would have a negative impact as GXT would worry about her more and distract him causing him to lose the fight. But it would be close.

Guo Xiaotian took on a few soldiers, while Lin Pingzhi's parents took on wulin disciples. i would think the standard for southern song soldiers and qingcheng disicples is quite different. LHC was not great at the time, but he was in fact the top student in huashan. thus, him being able to beat up qingcheng students easily is not surprising at tall. just think about how useless the 7 freaks looked against a young qiu chu ji, and then think about how Guo & Yang would compare to one of the freaks. then think about how years later, yang tie xin (should be above guo a quite a margin by then) was still equally useless

then about Lin Family martial arts,. the swordplay obviously cannot compare with the original, but they did not learn swordplay only. not to mention the qingcheng students were familiar with the swordplay already.

Qiu Chu Ji cannot be compared to early-SPW LHC. Qiu Chu Ji was definitely in the top 20 and perhaps in the top 10 of his era. There were scores if not hundreds of Shaolin, Wudang, Kulun, and unorthodox disciples that were stronger than LHC.

i wasn't comparaing LHC to QCJ...i'm just pointing out that LHC making qingcheng disicples look weak doesn't mean that qingcheng disciples should be compared to southern song soldiers.
