Watching this clip today is deeply ironic considering that Andy Lau has since become one of Hong Kong's premier singing stars and live performers. He's certainly not stiff and awkward singing on stage like he was in this clip anymore.

In a somewhat related note, the theater where this was performed was Lee's Theatre, Hong Kong's premier live performance theater for decades until it was demolished in the late 1980s. It's kind of a shame; this place had class.

Ken, I disagree. Andy's early clips showcased better singing than now although his stage showmanship has improved tremendously. He had some bad recordings in the 80s but some of his live singing was good. Most memorable was his duet with Jenny Tseng. I find that rronic but his singing for the past decade has not been good.
